It's Monday!

    It's Monday!

Wakey wakey! We did not have any luck on our search yesterday but we were able to rule out the high probability areas which is a big part of what search is all about. My day is full of meetings and field work. The bonus is that field work means jeans day! Love jeans days. It is supposed to be sunny and gorgeous too.

Wonderful weekend but very busy. I wanted to give a shout out to Riley's idogger Auntie Kate who sent Riley this awesome helmet cover for her riding lessons. She loves it!! She got the steer the horse yesterday - Whoot!

Riley looks so happy and she's adorable in her helmet cover from Aunt Kate!  How nice of Kate to send that to you guys. :)

It is Monday and I can't think of much to say about that sad fact.

DH is doing a great job on the baseboards.  :)

Riley is just so cute! Love the helmet cover!

Today is moving out day. As of yesterday, nothing more was packed. DS better get on it or he will find everything in the street.

I am tired and just know the 2:00p slump time is going to kill me today.

     Lookin good Riley!

I need to go up in my attic and find the Halloween decorations. It's October 1, that means I really need to get this done today. I also need to get my car an oil change,  and maybe do something about my hair. It needs to be cut, and I need to color it. If I get it cut today, I obviously won't mess it up by doing the color. I'm just not sure I have time to go over and get it cut, because the cheaper oil changes are at Midas, which is nowhere near any place I would want a hair cut at.

Its awful and rainy. The Giants lost and lost more key players. The US Ryder Cup team did what they always seem to do - collapse at crunch time.DH is leaving a trail in each room he visits Angry

Despite the rain and gloom today was going to be a swim next to the kayak day, I packed up the car, loaded the boat and the nutjob, drove to the lake and the barrier was up - it is closed on Mondays, October through March, sigh. Turned around, got home, unloaded the boat, changed clothes and drove to the fields which give access to the lake. Nutter was happy to be in the fields and did OK at the lake (which was all our own - could have stayed for ages despite the rain). On our way back he wasn't as well behaved...........he almost was well behaved but when we came back to the open section of the field there was 6 deer. He did well to freeze(whoa) and watch the females take off, unfortunately the snorting male was a bit too much and off he went. He seems no worse for the wear and honestly he's thrilled with himself Hmm

Got back and had a snitty customer that asked for a product I issue and clearly thought I could send it via mental telepathy over the phone the instant it occurred to them they wanted it. Freak. I know the 2 minutes was a long wait but I am glad to say they survived it.

Welcome October, so far not great really LOL Oddly I still am smiling.

Jackie glad the baseboards are looking great!  Tina I hope you do toss his stuff on the street if he doesn't get it done. Some people just don't get it.

Riley you look like a pro! Auntie Kate is awesome isn't she? Big Smile

OK let me see what else can happen this morning

I went looking around the house for the Halloween lights, which are no where to be found. Not in the attic, not in the basement. We have all sorts of other lights, but I can't find the Halloween stuff, and I know we had a lot of Halloween stuff. I wonder if my sister might have stolen it and taken it with her to Florida, because we had a lot of stuff. If she did, I  bought some of that stuff, and most of it my mom bought, so she had no right to take it. Maybe it is here somewhere, but I don't know where it would be except the basement or the attic. Speaking of which, both of those need to be cleaned up, because my mom uses every area of the house to just dump stuff.

I just heard something crash from upstairs. I'm thinking it might be something from in the attic.

Now that I think of it, I wonder if the Halloween lights were the ones that had the wires chewed up by the squirrels last year. Totally forgot about that,  and rethinking LEDs now.

Riley looks sooooo cute!! Yay for nice aunties.. Big Smile

100 degrees today and high 90s for the next few days and then mid 80s. My last electric bill made me want to cry and this next one will probably be worse :(.

I think I might go to Nordstrom Rack today. I haven't been in ages and feel like doing something different.

URGHHH!  DH called this morning. The lawn company busted our back door wall.  Sounds like a rock shot out when they were weed whacking and cracked it.  I guess it has two layers and only the outer layer cracked.  They are sending someone over to fix it - hopefully soon before the inner layer goes too.

Poor Charlie is going balastic as the guys are coming over and inspecting it, etc.  Riley on the other hand slept through the whole thing LOL

I got the car done, of course, they tell me it needs other stuff, which I already know about. Now they are telling me whatever it is, it could ignite. I don't know how true that is, but it's due for inspection next month, and I'll take it over hopefully sometime this week to the local guy, have it inspected, and see what he says. It's had the leak for a while, and I took  it to the local guy a few months ago. He said he wouldn't bother repairing it on that car at that point. So, I figured I'll just get it inspected early (you can do 2 months ahead here) and see what he says. If it needs a ton of work, we have another car, my sister's  car, that we have been trying to sell, and I'll just get that one.

LOL I have been having an issue with Bugsy's PFD. The company that makes it NRS is fabulous and immediately said they'd send me a new one, well it arrived today. It is an XS instead of XL....................hehehehe it is so cute and would fit our neighbor's foster pup but I don't think it would have ever fit the Beast. They are so apologetic, I am like wow no biggie just glad to have such swift service from a company.

Lisa I hope your door is fixed.

Deb I know you are allowed to have a vacation but dang I miss the daily drink.................

Gin, I'm thinking maybe bubble wrap might do it.

Man, it has been Monday alllll day.

Emailed my boss to tell him I'd gotten a half page ad from a client we've been working on for over a year.  His response?  Why not this week??  Why not for 4 weeks in a row??  This ad is for NEXT week for National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, so I just emailed him back....typical MAN!  Nothing is ever good enough.  He'll snort for sure when he reads that!

Yeah, Riley, looking good and in charge of that beast!

Spent today reorganizing my kitchen cabinets, trying (and failing) to figure out how to take out the blinds out of a window (seriously the only screws I can see CANNOT be reached!), scrubbing out the tub, cleaning both bathrooms, meeting with a plumber to get a leaky pipe fixed (quick fix thank goodness), trying and failing to get appointments with two other mold remediation people (nice to know they have enough work and don't need my money), going through all my clothes and getting rid of stuff that's old or I just don't wear, etc etc.

Tomorrow I start combing through our small storage area that's jammed pack full of junk I don't think we've looked at in nearly 5 years.  Amazing how much junk we've collected over the years!  Also need to vacuum tomorrow...once upon a time I think our carpets were not quite so, furry....light colored carpets plus black dog that sheds = not so pretty carpet.

Oh and I figured out how to put in a new toilet flush handle thing-a-ma-bob.  This is actually a really huge accomplishment for me lol.

I'll have to figure out those blinds tomorrow.  They are really dirty and I need to take them out of the window to properly clean them.  I don't really like blinds, so worse case I rip them out and am "forced" to buy curtains hehehehe.

    • Gold Top Dog

Sharon, at the top of the blinds...open them all the way, then look just above that....there should be a little piece of plastic just at each end.  That piece should slide right out and viola, the blinds pop right out.

Congrats on installing the toilet flusher handle thingee!
