Opps, forgot to start Secret Santa, 2012

Grief, am getting way too absent minded.

First off...who wants to volunteer to do the one dog families?

Next, EMAIL me the following info asap so we can get this rolling.

Sending something for the pet parent is optional and completely up to the sender

Gifts should be in the ~~$15-20 rang~~e. I think we determined it was $10-15

Deadline will be October 31st so people have time to shop and mail before Thanksgiving, so we have time for the inevitable folks who get missed

If you blew off a past assignment, please don't sign up

What I need.....

YOUR real name, addy, email addy, mailing address and your forum name

Names of your dogs, along with their ages, sizes, preferences for goodies, etc.

Anything you won't allow them to have

I'm sure I'll think of more but this is a good place to start!

I'm new here - joined in February. So, you buy a gift(s) for the dog(s) and human if you want, and mail it? Is that all?

And what's so different about the one dog families? Thanks!

You just sign up with me with all the pertinent stuff, you'll get your assignment of who YOU are to buy for, someone will get your dog family.

The past couple years I've had someone to help me out by taking the one dog families, that's all. This can become a bit unwieldy over time!

Glenda matches people up by the number of dogs you have. So for me, I will buy for someone who has 3 dogs. Similarly, someone with 3 dogs will buy for me you usually spend $10-15 per dog and buying something for the owner is optional. We usually have a christmas card swap too for those that would rather send cards. Then people usually post pics of their dogs opening their gifts or posing with their gifts, etc. It is a fun time around the forums.

Glenda, what is the deadline sign up. Not sure if I am going to do it yet or not.

Julie, you're right about the $ amount. I think I upped it 5 bucks, but you're figure is what we've always used.

Okay, I guess I'll bite on helping you out with the one dog families. I managed to match people up to swap tastykakes before, so I suppose I can do this.

Yup, I got it. I was just waiting to make sure I was indeed doing the single dogs. So, single dogs to me. I'll confirm receipt. If I don't within 48 hours, I'm usually much quicker, but give me some time, feel free to hunt me down and pester me.

I've never done Secret Santa (I think it got started after we'd lost Tonka, and I didn't get my act together for our first Christmas with Ruby last year). I'd like to participate this year. Smile

Since we have only Ruby, I will PM Jen with the info Glenda outlined in her initial post. That's all I have to do, right?
