Rainy Sunday Chat

    Rainy Sunday Chat

I love that we've had five inches of rain overnight.  We really needed it and it was kind of cool to be snuggled in bed listening to the storm bring all that lovely rain.  Flooding in some areas but we're fine other than the "pond" in the backyard.

Yesterday we picked out our tile. :)  This morning when we woke up we both said "too bad we don't have our tile installed so we don't have to deal with the muddy carpet today". lol

Wow Jackie - that's a lot of rain. I'll bet it was a joy to listen to and I'm glad there wasn't any flooding from it.

What color tile did you pick out? Did you say you're removing all your carpet?

DH was up super early to walk Shane and has just left for a long bike ride. I need to go grocery shopping and then I have a class and a meeting out at Homeward Bound. It's supposed to be in the mid 90s but that's better than the mid 100s.

I hope everyone has a great Sunday!

Rainy here too - I cannot say i am as grateful as Jackie about it LOL

Took Bugsy swimming this morning, man I tell you this dog can up his fitness level really quick. He was a swimming fool! As soon as I put the boat by the water he took off swimming so I had to catch up and then we went further than ever with only one stop. I am 100% sure I couldn't tread water as long as he was swimming Big Smile

I suppose the rainy day is good - my desk is still VERY full and the more I sort out for mom's stay here the more I realize I should get sorted for her LOL

Julie I could do with feeling chilly - I want to make stew tonight but I am sure by dinner time I'll think that its way too hot for stew

It's quite cool here too Julie.  It feels good for today, but I do hope for some warmer temps before the winter cold.  I think we're going to have a hard winter this year after the odd summer.

    Any improvement in the ears/pain?

It's funny how much our taste for food changes with the temps.  There are people who eat soups year round, but for me, they are more cool/cold weather foods.  Same with stews and things like meatloaf, etc.  Even the "winter" squashes don't taste good in 90 degree temps, yet I love them.

No rain here for us today!  In fact, mildly overcast with some sun, and heading up to 80, a great day.  Had the windoes open all night, down to 63 so lovely for sleeping.  Took the fluffs to Slater Park for their morning walk -- ha haa EVERYONE was out walking their dogs before the heat sets in.  And with yesterday's day of rain, many dogs hadn't had exercise at all yesterday, so it was kind of noisy -- all the dogs barking hello, let's PLAY!

Finally turned the fan off after I don't know how many days - even with the rain it was muggy.  Last night I came home and had perfect sleeping weather.  Today looks like an equally nice day, but I'm sad to think the warm weather may be fading away.  The nights are getting darker sooner already.

I hate how you get all done up to go out and the next morning all you want to do is wash it all away b/c your hair feels like crap, your face feels oogy, and the perfume smell needs to go away!

Good gracious I can see the top of my desk .............and not just because I moved everything around LOL

Didn't do any cleaning but soooooooooooo glad to be able to start the work week not thinking about loose ends!

Went to the "Reactive Dog" class and wouldn't you know that only my dog and another dog got into it :(. The woman next to me had her dog tethered on too long of a line and then walked away. It could have been much worse but it still shook me up. I moved far away and the rest of the class went okay but I think I lost a few lbs in sweat from the heat.

I'm very, very, very much enjoying the thought of not having to work tomorrow :)

Same here, Glenda.  I think the last few times we've been out to eat I've just ordered a big salad.  Anything else just seems too heavy in the heat.

It's coming up on 5 p.m. and I really, really need to make myself go outside and scoop.  I've been putting it off all day, but it doesn't work well to wait until it's almost too dark to see.

I'm not sure what the temp is today, but it feels more like the mid 90s which is fine with me.  Anything is better than 100+.  Now if fall would just hurry up and come.  I envy you guys having rain.  It must feel heavenly.

Cathy, I didn't realize shane was reactive. Bummer.

The corgi is gone. What a relief. I only wish I had a full day or 2 to enjoy it before having to start a new week. That dog really made me appreciate how quiet and mellow my own dogs are. They have their moments but for the most part they are awesome. They have been wonderful snugglers this weekend.

I'm down to just taking regular old tylonal now so that is good! The swelling in my ears has gone down as well. I can't wait until I can sleep on my side again. I am not a back sleeper at all so this week has been rough.

Julie, not all Corgis are maniac barkers. Tootsie, only barks when someone knocks on the door and when I pull out the leash. Even then its only a few barks, but when I say enough she is quiet. I hope this hasn't clouded your view on all Corgis. :)

I'm glad you're starting to feel better, Julie!!

It was cold, and off and on raining, but we had a lot of fun at the show! Both DH & I drank too much, though. We didn't do anything stupid, but we both woke up spinning and had headaches. I don't think I've had a hangover in over 10 years. Gettin' old! Stick out tongue  I brought limeade and vodka and it was omgyummy.

The land it was on was 27 acres. DH's friend owns it. They spent all day building a stage and bulldozing out places for tents and parking. They really did a good job. There was a huge bonfire, although I spent most of the time in front of the stage.

There is a campground next to the property, and some campers came over to see what was going on. They were funny - some 60ish (?) year old lady was talking about how cool it was, and how it reminded her of Woodstock. lol

Oops, sorry for the confusion. Shane is a dream around other dogs. This is a class where we pull the reactive dogs that are up for adoption and work with them on being less reactive. I worked with Scrubs today and he's a doll other than the reactive part. He's been there a few months and we'd all really like to see him find a good home.

I'm so glad you and your ears are feeling better. Yes
