TGIF Chatter!

    TGIF Chatter!

It's Friday!  *happy dance*  Now I'm just praying for no more shift call outs, unexpected additions to the schedule or any other calamity.  Tomorrow I'm off to Massachusetts for the weekend to visit with friends and on Sunday see my Mom.  I cannot wait!  The friends and I are headed out for a whale watch, dinner and I'm sure a few cocktails lol.

Barbara - Great news about your foot!

Nicole - Hope you can get some sleep.

Kitty - Sorry you didn't get the job.  I've got my fingers crossed for you!

    I missed Barbs foot news....drat.

Thank goodness theres just one more day to this week.  It's been a very good, and very productive week, but I'm about burned out.

Hoping everyone has an awesome day!

Have fun on your trip sharon!

I am happy to hear about your foot Barb. I meant to post something about that yesterday. I see on fb walking isn't coming that easy though? I am headed back to work today wlthough I don't know if I will last a full day. My ears are really bugging me with all the banging. It is like a drum pounding is going on every minute or so alternating between ears. It is really annoying. I want to ride my bike too but not sure if I should. Maybe I will just drive and only stay for the morning.

I did my toenails last night all pretty. Candace inspired me while on vacation to get creative. She is so good with nails, we all had happy feet the entire time. Happy feet is a good thing!

Indeed!  I wanna see happy toes!  I'm not on fb w/you guys so I missed any pics of your trip.

Glad to hear Barb's foot is improving.

Dog friends are taking me out to dinner tonight and it will be a week since Mayday died.  Her owner and I have deliberately avoided speaking on the phone b/c we know she will break down, so tonight will be the first time I see her.  I had a bracelet made for her back in May that has Mayday's name on it and for whatever reason it never made it into her hands.  Tonight will be the first she sees it.  It's a leather bracelet w/brass plate that has Mayday's name and titles on it.  I debated if I should wait some more, but I'm guessing now is as good a time as any.

Cathy - you may like this.  My sister called me last night to ask if I want to move to California with her. Calabasas?  Oye.  If she was offering me a better job I'd go, but she just wants me there to take care of her dog.  Sigh.

Off to get more coffee!!!!  I LOVE COFFEE!!!

Oh Paige - I'd love if you moved here!! Calabasas is still a ways away but what a gorgeous location. Your sister sure does get some nice job locations.

Julie - I saw the pretty painted toes pictures. I figured it was something that they did in Belize. Cool that you can do it yourself. I love the hair braiding too.

It's a little cooler this morning and will be a pretty nice weekend. I only have to work 1/2 day, so that'll be nice.

Barb, from yesterday, I hope your foot continues to heal and your mobility is back to normal soon.

Deb, I forgot to ask if you got your molar fixed?

    Not much excitement here.

     Yea Barb! Good job Julie!

I just had a successful phone interview regarding that big contract.........trying not to get too excited - next step is an in-person interview. The amazing thing is that all the timescales work and I wouldn't have to change any current plans.............all feeling too good to be true LOL

Not yet.  The dentist sanded it down so it wasn't so sharp against my tongue and next week he's going to drill the old filling out and refill it and the week after that I get the cap.  The problem is that I always have a severe reaction to any of the "caines"  . . .like lidocaine, articaine, etc., which contain epinephrine.  So I have to use a non-epi caine like prilocaine, but they only keep you numb for a very short amount of time before they wear off.  So, all my dental work has to be done spread out over a couple of different times to get it all completed.

Barb - great news about the foot !!

Here's a pic of our pretty toes! Clockwise from top: Candace, Heather, me, Julie. Big Smile

I SO have vacation brain!! I still don't know what day/time it is, ever. We brought the kids to the fair last night and didn't get them to bed until like 10 or 10:30, I don't even remember. I woke up at 8:30 this morning and remembered that they were supposed to go to daycare today (at 7:30.) Oops! So I got them up, dressed and out the door in record time. We had missed breakfast but she kindly offered to make them some waffles. She is so awesome.

I wasn't supposed to go back to work until Monday but I already have some freelance work to do. *sigh* It's good though because I don't get paid vacations so I'll need a little extra to get through the next couple of weeks!

Once I get caught up with work I'll get my vacation pics uploaded.

Those toes are pretty and I'm jealous!  How do you make them so cute?  My toes and toenails are just plain ugly; my littlest toes barely have nails at all actually.  Makes it hard to paint those two toenails.

Well my wish for a quiet Friday has gone unanswered.  Aurrent client added to their schedule to include overnight shifts starting Monday (awesome to add so many hours, but we're still trying to hire enough staff!).  And two call outs for Monday shifts (at least they told me today!).

In honor of Barb, here's my Friday Tiki Bar contribution:

    The Walking Margarita

    - Slice a seedless watermelon and lay the pieces into a glass baking dish.

    - Pour a shot of tequila over each slice and refrigerate for at least 3 hours.

    - Every 1/2 hour baste with more tequila.

    - Before serving, dip the watermelon edges in some coarse sea salt.

    Cute tootsies! :)

Karen, I'm so happy to hear your interview went well and that you'll be able to work your schedule around the new gig if you get it.  Good luck on the next interview.

Deb, good luck with the dentistry.  oy

I joined a canine cancer group on yahoo.  OMG, the emails are pouring in and I think I need to change the email to my home account because my work emails are getting lost in the sheer volume.  I think I can change my preferences on the email.  I thought when I set it up I had checked the option to not get the emails and only view through the web site but obviously I did something wrong.  Surprise, surprise. lol

I am so glad it's Friday. Big Smile

Oh, that does sound delish! Except after a few slices I'd have to rename it the stumbling margarita.  Lightweight, I know.
