    Good luck for Riley's appointment!

What's for lunch today?  Baby is hungry Smile

ETA I loved the story, Cathy.... It made me tear up as well.  Incredible how strong they are.

Ditto! The family's grace and strength are amazing.

Just popping to say the appt. went well!  She did great - blood pressure was done without a problem - that was my biggest goal today.  Both the Nurse Practioner and the doc commented on her progress.  That was so good to hear.  They also confirmed no other locations so we are just still the knee!  YEAH!!!!

Julie - we were totally late for the appt.  M-14 had an accident and completely threw us off schedule.  It started snowing about 1/2 way through the drive and I knew were were going to be late.  Plus they just moved into the new Children's Hospital and I didn't know where we were going.  They were cool though since the weather was so awful and I still got out of there before 10:00!

Glad to hear Bugsy doesn't seem phased by yesterday's acrobat routine.

Cathy - I just know how to take good pics Wink  Nothing from the waist down please.

Thanks for all the calming vibes - they definitely worked.

Repair was $91 w/ a 15-day warranty in case the thing decides to mess with me later and not spin.

I'm glad it was at least a relatively inexpensive repair but I'd use it a bunch in the next 15 days to see if the problem starts up again.

Trust me, I will.  Between me and DS, the washer gets used.

I don't know how the Johnson family does it.

    Glad Riley's appt. went well.

Just stopping by to say hi!  Yesterday was crazy but exciting.  Meeting yesterday morning with our tech dept, answered lots of question about the way the company see our future and it was great.  Everyone is excited about some of the new technology that is soon to be implemented. :) Kinda like Glenda fixing the computers the other day, giving this old mind some new tasks was good for me.

Cathy thanks for the update on the Johnson's.  I think about them often, it is a good reminder of my own blessings.

Deb....mmmm....I think the mailman ate my Mac N Cheese, it shoulda been here by now Wink

Julie, for what it's worth, I love my job.  It will never make me rich.  As long as I can pay the bills and be happy to me that is most important.  I have made more money in times past but hated to go to work.  Insurance and happiness are way more important to me that extra money.

Gotta run, hope everyone has a good day.

Congrats on the good appointment, Lisa.

It's very gray outside and it's supposed to be coming down pretty hard by mid afternoon.  I think this will be the first rain since a slightly drizzly Thanksgiving day.

Marty, that's a bummer about your Schwan's delivery.  I don't suppose you have a Trader Joe's anywhere near you?  They also have a great selection of frozen fruit mixes and appetizers ... and they're pretty inexpensive compared to the regular grocery stores.

Nope, no Trader Joe's here.  I think the closest one may be in Atlanta, and that is a miserable place to drive when you aren't used to it.

Trader Joe's discontinued the blintzes DH likes, and were out of the olive oil kettle chips I wanted.  I am unhappy with them currently.

I might have found my next Expedition. Big Smile It's a really good price and when I asked the salesman why it was priced so low, he said it was missing  the third row seat and everyone wants that option. It's a 2007 model.  I told him I would have taken it out anyway so the dog crates would fit in the back.  lol   We're going to look at it as soon as possible.  Hope it works out because I hate car shopping.  My wholesale dealer guy has been in and out of the hospital and today he's back in so he told me not to count on him finding me anything soon.  He had a colonostomy in late December and has had nothing but complications. He's a really nice guy who has become a friend and I hope things look up for him soon.  I feel disloyal buying elsewhere but he understood when I called him today.

Cathy, that Johnson story brought me to tears.  What an incredible woman.

We have had such a turnover with the Schwan's delivery people.  I complained to the last guy about products not being in good condition and appearing to have been thawed and refrozen.  He shrugged and said he's just filling in for someone else.

Jackie, I did some research on Schwan's after I got that letter the other day...apparently the drivers are upset because of a change in pay structure  which is now commission based and the demands that they only spend 4 minutes per home, which is impossible to do.  They are closing around 150 food depots, so I'd imagine they are juggling food around.  None of this can be good for business...this economy is hurting everybody...  I don't understand how "they" keep saying it's getting better!

    • Gold Top Dog
There was an article in our paper today about 2 Schwan's depots closing nearby. It also mentioned the cuts nationwide. Yeah, I keep looking for signs that things are getting better too.

Lisa, glad to hear the appt went good! And that you had relatively safe travels even if it was slow.

Does anyone else feel like this morning was 100 yrs ago? What a day! My brain is tired.

I am really trying to figure out how to get the motivation to go to the gym more than once a week. I am stuck with lots of excuses about why I don't want to go. Isn't that always the way?

DH rented a UHaul to go get the new sofa from Costco... he set it up a couple days ago, so couldn't really change last minute.  It started snowing on our way home from work and then he left to get the truck and get there.  I'm a little worried about him though since those trucks don't handle well and it's starting to get pretty slippery out.  One neighbor had to just shovel the street (it's sloped) to get up it.  It's maybe 1/2 inch so far, but that's enough.  A salt truck just came by but he has to go thru the city to get to Costco and the city has a policy of "snow will melt" so they don't salt or plow Sad  He probably won't be back for an hour but I don't want to call him since it would distract him.

In other news, I linked to a recipe for brownies on facebook that are essentially one package cookie dough, one pacakge double stuff oreos and then covered with one package brownies and baked.  OMG.

Great news about Riley, Lisa.  Yes, I feel like morning was at LEAST 100 years ago.  and, I forgot everything else, except that awesome woman and her family.  Wow.

So, the bad news is that we didn't ever get to the wood.  The good news is that the part of DS's truck he needed to fix is fixed, and the ignition coil that decided to go out was still under warranty and it takes literal seconds to replace.

Did two returns today, so that was pretty cool.

Tired and would love to sleep now, but a bit too early for that......sigh!
