Yeah, it would be nice to have that golden brown skin year round!

I am back.  Arrived around 2 this morning.  That is a hellish drive alone, but it was well worth it.  Mom and I had a wonderful time and she was thrilled to have me "camping out" with her.  It was really a special visit.  So, yeah, I'd do the trip again....just not real soon!  Groan!!!

Absolutely good thots and prayers for Auburn's niece.  Strangely, one of the gals at the AR place got a call that HER neice was in an accident, will loose an eye, two collapsed lungs, medically induced coma in ICU........

And my sympathy for Grimm.

Callie and a new pupper???  I've missed a great deal this past week.

I brought a ton of stuff home from storage and my car doesn't have one single square inch of usable space that wasn't used.  I was joking with DH that its so tight that a flea couldn't fart in there and that would be a good thing since I wouldn't have to deal with flea farts all the way home......guess he didn't think that was too funny.  Exhaustion really ruins my sense of humor I guess.  The ONLY thing that came in last night was the insulated bag of frozen marrow and knuckles for the kids....they will get a treat a bit later.

Off to unload and find room for stuff....may be hitting the Tiki bar early.....

I go to such extremes.  In the summer my skin gets so dark and golden (pretty quickly actually) and in the winter I am 100% wonder bread white.  I look so pasty and gross and coupled with my dark hair - YUCK!  I was born to live in the sun, I am convinced...only 4 more months until our Palm Springs vacation. 

Here's a funny story for you.  One summer my girlfriend and I were down in Miami.  After a day of laying on the beach I went upstairs to shower.  The bathroom was all white tile, tub, curtain etc.  I step in the shower and looked down at my legs and literally thought for a couple of seconds there was someone else in the shower with me because my legs were so dark.

I definitely don't lay out like that anymore, but just being outside every afternoon after work with Riley and all day on the weekends, I still get that wonderful summer golden glow...I miss it already

I'm glad you posted that -- I didn't get a chance TO post it and it's a GREAT story -- they didn't say but it SOUNDS like it's actually the woman who called 911 on her cell to REPORT seeing him that may actually have adopted him.

these are the boots I bought, for my Robin Hood costume but also just because I like them and plan to wear them during the cooler weather that SHOULD be showing up, at some point, in Texas. LOL!

Those are some serious boots!

My apologies for not getting in touch with our MI friends while I was there....I was afraid if I did I might get sent to the kitchen!

It reminds me of what a friend said after she moved from Oregon to southern Utah.  She had a photo "collection frame" for each of her kids with their annual school portraits in it.  When she put their photos in the frames after their first year in Utah, it was striking how different they looked from their Oregon photos.  It was like a row of pasty, white faces, then suddenly a glowing, healthy-looking face smiling at the camera.  She said, "I never knew how sickly my kids looked all the years we lived in Oregon!"  Even in the winter they got color on their faces from skiing or playing out in the snow.

My co-worker is back today after a week's vacation.  She's plowing through all the phone messages, emails, and paperwork that piled up while she was gone.  We were saying it only takes an hour back at your desk to feel like you never even had a vacation!  The feeling of being rested and relaxed goes right out the window!  

Lisa, how's Riley doing in school? Is it every day? 4K here is two full days/week, and kindergarten is 5 full days/week. Seems like a bit much to me; we went 5 half days/week. My nephew goes full days Tues & Thurs, and every other Friday.

Nothing to report here.  Thinking of Vivian's grand niece.

I ordered a portrait of Gracie that was taken at a charity event - the charges will be donated to the shelter where the event was held.  $8 for a 5x7 photo, meh, but donation to shelter = .  I want to hire the lady to take pics of G w/all her awards.... THAT would be cool.

told me $400 and asked if that was good. I had no clue and we decided to go through with it. Well I've arrived home and wow they trimmed them up pretty high! When I considered that they did 20 pines for $20 each I felt a bit bad I questioned the price.

Sounds like a good deal to me.  The guy I work with does tree and limb removal as a business and that sounds much lower than he would charge.  If not about the same...depending on the trees.

Oh....and Karen.  I know you were complaining about the DH....Did he sing this song to you???  hehehe
