New Foster

    New Foster

Hey gang.  I want in on this fostering thang too.  Well, I'm going to be fostering the sweetest Field Spaniel.  Long story short because I'll get too mad if I go into too many details about poor Miss Molly.  She belongs to a woman who I clean house for & have known Molly for a while.  She's sweet, scared & has NO confidence.  I've fallen so hard for her that she's the only reason I keep cleaning for this lady.  I also have house sat for her as well.  In the short time I was with Molly I saw her confidence grow only to be smashed down again by this woman.  It took so little to help Molly.  A little love, a LOT of "good girls" & NO yelling @ her.  It also helped to take her with me wherever I went.  She ate it up.  Anyway, I'm getting her in August.  I'm so looking forward to getting my hands & heart on her.  I'll post pictures when she's comfortable with the camera.  She scares so easily.  I will be contacting Spaniel Rescue & the local rescue groups around here.  Any other ideas on finding her a good home will be greatly appreciated.  I can't keep her.  I just want to give her a chance @ a happy life.  She so deserves it.

Annie--What happened with the owner, she just doesn't want her anymore?

    Annie T, you rock.

I wish you could get her now. You may wind up in a Glenda situation, in that, after a while, you may not find a suitable home. Then Miss Molly, horror of horrors, will be a "failed" foster and have to just "tough it out" with your loving kindness.

Good luck with Molly.  What happened to the lady?

Yup Annie, you do rock (Max says so)! My sister and I held a Molly yesterday at Petsmart during the adoption day. Our Molly got adopted, and hopefully yours will too (but not before I meet her of course).

I think we should just call you Awesome Annie!  That's wonderful, it will do your heart good and little miss Molly is already the better for knowing you.  Can't wait -why August?

Good for you Annie! Can't wait to see Ms. Molly safe with you and on her way to a better future. Ya never know you just may find that after bringing her home that she is just meant to stay with you forever. Look what happened with Jake and us[;)] Whatever happens atleast you can feal good knowing that you have helped her get away from the bad life she was forced to live.

Thanks guys.  I'm REALLY excited about getting Miss Molly.  She is sooooooooo sweet.  Part of me is thinking that she may be a failure already but I promised DH that we'd try to find her a suitable home for her.

Here's her story...Her owner is very narcissistic.  She only is interested in herself & what makes her look good.  Molly has issues that this woman will not deal with.  She wants an instant perfect dog like her other dog.  Being a Spaniel, Molly is a bit on the energetic side.  This lady will not walk her or train her in any way.  She just doesn't have time.  She DOES have time to take her Bichon to be fluffed every month yet will not groom Molly or take her to the vet.  The Bichon seems content with this situation but Molly is miserable.

I just can't WAIT to get my hands on her to show her the love that she deserves & help her with her confidence.  The Little work that I have done with her, she just laps it up.  The phrase "good girl" just seems to do so much for her.  You can see her say, "yeah, I AM a good girl, what more can we do?  This is great!"

Her owner can't make up her mind about when she wants to turn her over to me.  First I was to get Molly on Wednesday (the day I normally clean her house), after talking to J she's worried about how the Bichon will be after Molly is gone & wants to wait until after she goes away @ the end of the month.  Actually, this might be better for me.  It came up so suddenly & I'm so not ready for another dog.  I have some rearranging to do in my house to make space for her. Hmmmmmmmmm, how many dogs can a 750 sq ft house hold? ~LOL~
    • Gold Top Dog
We only have 850 sq ft and it holds 3 dogs, a cat and a 55 gal. fish tank!

What a great thing to do!

I 'm happy about Miss Molly too, but Annie I just don't trust you girlfriend! lol

Deb, you know me pretty well. ~L~

Welp, I guess I'm getting Miss Molly on Wednesday instead of in August.  Scramble time! ~L~

Don't worry, you'll do fine. Molly already knows you, likes you, and knows she can easily please you.
