This way, please.  I moved most of mine into bonds a couple of years ago.  Hasn't grown much, but it's still there.

Hot and humid day, like most of the summer has been.  But we had BLT's from the garden with fresh beans and locally grown sweet corn this week. 

Thanks to the heat, Piper has been getting out of her walks.  Which means the nails need more frequent trimming.  She is very proud of her feet-no one is to touch them.  I tried a Dremel but she doesn't care for that.  The sound doesn't bother her, but they are her feet.  Don't touch.  I usually use a clipper and do one foot a night, but I quicked her last night.  So we had to stop.  Went to the vet today to get it done.  They charged me $8.  Best money I've spent this month.

Cathy I emailed you -- we went thru a similar time with Kee Shu -- and it was David who didn't think it was right "yet".  But I gotta say when we finally made the decision, as we both look back on it - we did it right when it was *right*.  Buffy's lucky.  But honestly -- so are we.  In many relationships it is the man who lacks compassion and says "just put the dog to sleep" -- and having a spouse (on either side of the equation) who says "Hmm -- let's not rush this" -- it's a good thing.

Not sure what hole I crawled out of today but I am SO tired.  I'm not proud of it but man, my brain is not tracking well today.

Ginger, if we aren't sisters, I'd be happy to trade in my oldest one for you.  She's not very nice.

Last week I painted the reception stand at the front of the office.  It's a rather ackward looking thing and one end (the one that faced the window) was totally nekid.  Then I scrubbed down all the walls in the office, which is fun with the very high ceilings.  Also washed the huge plate glass windows.  Today, I painted the "ledge/window seat/whatever" in front of said windows.  Since we have NO coloring books in the office, not real sure why they keep crayons on the shelves of the aforementioned reception desk for the little darlins to get into and write all over the walls with......  But, the right scrubbies, baking soda and a bit of elbow grease and the walls are sparkling again.  Likely for the first time in 10 years.......

]Mercury went retrograde on Tuesday!  Don't sign any contracts or start any new projects.  Review and revise existing stuff - that's the best you can do while you wait this out.  Unfortunately, it lasts until August 26th. 

well that explains a lot - as a Gemini Mercury is fairly important for me!

Oh and all this stuff not going smoothly means I can't get to DC to hang out with Jewliee - I was sooooooooooooooooo looking forward to getting out of here for a bit and meeting Julie and seeing some museums

I just have to share with people who will fully appreciate this. My BF, who "didn't really like dogs" for the longest time, insisted I wash my hands after petting Rascal, etc... I've been sending him some silly Rascal videos lately, since we live far apart, and not only does BF not make fun of me for them, but he's been re-posting them on his Google+ feed so he can show all of his friends "our" dog! I'm so happy that BF has learned to appreciate Rascal like I do!

I know this is so true and I'm grateful for how much he loves Buffy and he was the same way with Jake at the end. He doesn't just talk the talk either. I came home the other day and he told me that Buffy had pooped and then plopped in her poop and when he went to help her, she wagged her tail and got poop all over him. He said he gave her a bath, cleaned up the mess, including cleaning poop out of a small fan that she leaned against, and then took a shower himself.

On a much lighter note, I just realized that we never saw the humor in the poop hitting the fan that day

Well I will shed some late afternoon light on this otherwise apparently incongruous and disastrous day for others. I have accepted a position with the Oregon Dept of Transportation. I had the interview last Wed and when I left their office, I called DH and told him, "That was fun!". He said some words along the lines of what? interviews aren't supposed to be fun, that doesn't make any sense! It doesn't but it was! They offered me the job this past Monday and we signed the officialness yesterday. Told my boss today and on the 22nd I start a new adventure.  The group seems great and I can't wait to give it a go!

So in the last two weeks, we've moved out of the RV into a cute little rental house. Met all the neighbors around us in a neighborhood watch program block party and they all seem really nice and caring about the neighborhood. Then I get the job with a group of people that I had a blast interviewing with.  Is it really my time for things to fall into place? I sure hope so and this isn't some spoof on me! :)

Oh and ETA, the job is about $9 grand more per year!

Deb, it was their 30th anniversary cheesecake... chocolate cake, cheesecake, more chocolate and some little crunchy things along the back edge.  My fav by far :)

I'm missing a ton of siding on the back of the house -- makes me a little nervous even though I expected it.  Go roof builders, go!

I haven't had a batmobile sighting yet but maybe on saturday when we go down for filming.  Most of it's filming about a mile from work but we dont go past on the way home, but I might just have to take a field trip one day.
