Wednesday Wanderings

Deb that tart sounds amazing. I want some! I don't bake though. Maybe I'll try my hand at the recipe though someday. Usually my baking experiments end up miserably failures. Although, using diet soda and either brownie or cake boxed mix always comes out great for me lol. Mmm maybe I'll do that tonight. Diet cherry soda and brownie mix is yummy. Basically, I just want chocolate. I think there might be some Lindt dark chocolate truffles in the kitchen somewhere....runs away....

I'm thinking you could just use a store-bought pie crust and roll it into the tart pan and bake that off.  No more baking from there !!

replying via phone so it will be short & no spaces- Jackie :) Julie i know its not a chew toy but he just had it for a few seconds & took the top off it, he had just taken the treat out so that is why he had access. It SHOULD be tougher than that

So glad to read good news about Callie and Jan this morning. Nice way to start off the day.

I'd drizzly and super windy this morning but not very cold. I'm sure it's going to wreak havoc on the tons of snow that fell up higher last week.

Deb - I'm so glad Jamison listened to you so well when his collar broke. I worry about Sassy's loss of hearing and situations like that. If I can manage to whistle, she always hears that but I kind of stink when it comes to a good whistle.

I need to find something to eat around my office and although I really want a breakfast burrito, I think it's going to have to be oatmeal :(

Jeez Deb...my heart was beating just reading that!!!  Poor Jamison....tell your mom you're very smart...  you just act that way to get makeout sessions!

I'm stepping up my diet this month!  I don't really need to lose much weight...maybe 5 pounds or so but want to lose at least another 1-2 inches on the midsection!  That should put me right where I wanna be for shirtless weather!  I'm going hardcore this month!

So glad to hear Callie is HOME!!!  And CONGRATS Jano on the new job!  That is super exciting and hopefully it will be far more fulfilling for you too!  Man Deb, I would have been freaked out about a collar breaking, on Izzy at least.  So glad Jamison was a good boy and even rewarded you with a great makeout session.  :)  And Johnny, I am sending major remission for ever vibes for Tessy!  And vibes to anyone else I missed that needs them!

We officially took our house off the market as of yesterday and I feel really good about the decision.  Now we are meeting with contractors to see about adding a room at the back and how reasonable it will be to do it.  I know it would add some sq footage and some value but I am not sure we would get back every dime of it like we would on all of the other improvements we have done thus far but very possibly could if we are smart about what we do and how much we spend.  But if it makes us happy, and allows us to stay there more long term which I think it would, we might never move really, then it would be worth it in the long run for sure!  Even if we just stayed another 10 years which would be my main goal to get both kids through elementary school here since it is rated the highest in the ISD at a full fledged 10!  I also want to get some quotes on updating the bathrooms and changing the layout of the two (they are side by side) to make the hall one smaller and the master bigger with a double sink and big tub!  It's all a matter of deciding how much I am willing to finance and commit to in monthly payments and then paying for the rest right then and there.  I think I am more excited about making some changes to our house than I ever was about moving into a new house.  It's funny how once you have owned a home and gotten it mostly to how you want it, you become a far pickier buyer the next time around.

Since my mom's chemo got put off for another week because they couldn't get her port to flush on Monday, I asked hubs if he would accompany me on a really nice date night this weekend and he was happy to oblige!  Our 12 yr dating anniversary is next weekend so I thought it would be a great reason!  I am trying to decide where we will treat ourselves too.  There is a place we normally go that we love that has wild game and is so delicious but I want to try something different.  There is another place here I have been dying to try, but looking at the menu, it is mostly seafood and mostly stuff I am not allowed to eat so I think we should wait since it is rather expensive and I want to fully enjoy the food.  So now I am considering Tejas De Brazil....anyone ever been there?  I have wanted to try it for years but we never have!

Hope everyone has a great Wednesday!

So glad to hear you're home, Callie :)

I may need to write a book of coffee-making mishaps!  This morning I just completely forgot to put the little filter in the coffee press, or even get the coffee press out of the cabinet and just put my scoop of coffeegrounds directly into my mug LOL.

Yesterday was DH and my 15th wedding anniversary! Sure doesn't seem like that long, AT ALL.  Time flies.  I love him so much. We are a great team, and even when we get perterbed at each other, it's only for the moment and there is never a grudge.  And he's always loved me unconditionally.   <3 <3  Best person I know!

For our anniversary we got a fold down (or pop up, whichever you prefer) camper, a 2011 Coleman Bayside, and we get to pick it up on Friday, swqueeee!!  We've always liked camping, even with our ginormous tent, but we are weary of setting the thing up and don't even bother to go, as a result.   We went ahead and got the model with 2 king beds, and a potty, so the kids can grow into it and we won't have to upgrade.  We're hoping to use it once a month.  Yay!   We'll be heading back home to SD in June, so will be using that at a local lakeside campground, very excited and dont' have to divide time staying overnight at the in-laws and my parents' house.  Now everyone ismaking plans to camp in the same area, should be a blasT!

Ok, now I HAVE managed to make one coffee the right way, so hopefully I'm not so abscent minded!!

It's been 2 years since Bear went to the Bridge.  I wish we'd had more time together.

That about sums it up - ditto what she said.

I somehow acquired a 12-hour flu bug or something.  I've spent from 5:30 yesterday to 5:30 this morning with my body throwing everything out that it possible could.  I've never felt that sick before in my life. I have stopped wretching as of about 6am, but the rest of me is toast.  Joints are inflamed and I vacillate btwn chills and being roasting hot.  Stayed home from work, can't go to my friend's dad's funeral today (nor wake last night)  Feel badly for that. :(

     (((Tina))) - I understand.

    I, too, understand Tina.  Sorry.

Good news is that I don't need to replace the water softener !  Who knew the darn things needed maintenance every few years ???  Not me.  Although, I should have known better.  The guy also cleaned my fridge.  Man, there were some huge dust bunnies living under there!  That caused me to become obsessed with cleaning the inside of the fridge...which led to the microwave...the stove...the oven...

Paige, I'm glad the violent phase of this mystery illness is past you.  Hope you feel much better just as quickly.

Tina - I am so sorry.  I SO understand. ... there are times I get so blue for Foxy it's unreal.

I'm home from all dr appts -- man, this is SO complicated.  And of course my boss wants to know when I can come back to work (and they don't want me sitting up but rather reclining with my feet elevated pretty much all the time for weeks).

    *hugs sigh*

I'm going to go get flat and SLEEP>

Pagie - being sick like that is the worst -- you feel like you're gonna puke til your head falls off but you *know* that when your head hits the floor and explodes that's REALLY gonna hurt.

Julie -- have you **tried** using the essential oils??  I know it seems insane that it could help (particularly with the nasal problems -- but at the same time it can relieve the sinuses and can be unbelievable relief for the headaches.  I resisted it for ages but it's unbelievable how much it can help (and I am THE most sensitive thing to "smells" of any sort you ever met).
