Tylers big walk.....beyond awesome!

Good work, Tyler!  You done us all proud!

Congratulations, Glenda. As an aside, I did the same thing with Shadow before going to Dog Days of Summer and it seemed to work. He was well-behaved. Wouldn't drink out of the communal watering tubs  but would sip from water draining down the curb. Only drank a full portion of water when we got back to the company truck with the ac blowing. Only marked a few bushes.

Back to Tyler's glory. I am exceedingly glad that it was a rousing success. Now, in a day or two, training can start for next year. It's a "feel-good" thing for all of us and thank you for sharing it with us.

3 hurrahs for Glenda, 3 hurrahs for Tyler.

*I* didn't do anything that I don't do every year.  I just went for a walk.

But, Tyler, wow!  He showed our little piece of the world how great gsds can be (the only other not small dog there was a lab....lots of cockers, doxies and poms), he was a wonderful ambassador for the breed and even others commented on how focused he was on walking.  Not a sniff, not a startle, just focused in on walking the important walk.

Tyler is the one who deserves the praise.  He earned it!

    Okay, doggy angel.

    • Gold Top Dog
Sounds like a perfect walk (except for the triple sized ankle-OUCH!)!!!!!!!

Very proud of you Tyler, Glenda too!

Thanks for working so hard to raise the money Glenda - you are a generous soul!

Molly says "kudos" to her bro. He makes her proud.
I had to chuckle at some of the things you say about Tyler cause Molly is like that too!!!
She will only drink out of her water bowl or the collapsible one we have for hiking. She also won't poop on walks until she gets to the point where she's gonna lose it anyway. She prefers to go off into the wood!! Even here she goes into the bushes.
    So funny
But Molly would never ever walk through a pon

Great job Tyler! (and Glenda. Take the darn compliments, Glenda. YOU walked, too, and have a big fat ankle to prove it.) [:D]

OK, I've taken my bows now.  So, can we leave ME out of it??

Tyler was soooo good and that's really who deserves the praise.  AND the idoggers who gave so generously to the cause.

I have my causes that I'm really, really passionate about and I walk or whatever BECAUSE I'm passionate about these causes  It makes me feel really good to know that I'm helping.  I don't need pats on the back for following my heart.  Does that make sense?

Now, Tyler on the other hand, wow, he's really enjoying hearing what ya'll have to say about HIM!!

Yes, it does. I am much the same way. ( in a conspiratorial whisper) I have done good deeds. Mostly, it will never be known, except by those I've helped. Hit-and-run chivalry, as it were. And I prefer it that way. And you're right, in that it's hard to take praise for something you were going to do, regardless of praise. Fireman and police and other heroes often say the same thing as you do. With each self-effacing remark you make, you further cement your heroine status. And like most heroes, you don't think of yourself as such.

Suffice it to say that you are an honorable person of great integrity and commitment and that it is ennobling to know you as much as we can know you through this dog forum. And scratches and rubs for Tyler, hero-dog.

And if anyone is surprised by Tyler responding to what he was told, read "If Dogs Could Talk"

He would NOT take a drink from the communal water bowls set up for dogs....nope, had to have HIS bowl from the backpack and HIS water poured from the bottle into it.  Or from Dad's water bottle.

Willow wants you to know that is called being a yuppie puppy.  GOOD BOY, TYLER!!!
    • Gold Top Dog
Aw gosh Ron, that's quite a testiment to live up to!  But thank you.

Lori, Tyler wanted Willow to know that he had a little band on his collar with Willow and Billy written on it.....so Willow got her walk!
    • Gold Top Dog
We are SO honored and THRILLED that you did that!!!  Thanks!!!
    • Gold Top Dog
Hey, Willow got the ball rolling with other pups donating so she deserved to at least be thought of during the walk.  And Billy, well, Billy is fighting soooo hard to get well that we had to "take" him with us too!
