30 min wait for the doc so far. Seriously, why don't they spread the appointments out if they know this doc always runs 40+ mins behind? I have never had an appt with him that wasn't 40 mins late. Even my surgery was 40 mins later than scheduled! I would rather be at home sleeping

Dr. Oz did a show on "best time for..." and for dr's appts he said 8 AM because you'll be the first and the dr. will be in a better mood because he/she is not running behind. Made sense to me.. I hope you get seen soon Julie.

Tina - I'm glad you had fun but sorry about your machine. I'd be very ticked off too, especially because the shipping and all is such a hassle.

Wow, it's really hard to come back to work after 10 days off. I feel discombobulated about everything. The good news was that my commute was smooth and fast. I wonder if some people are still off. Oh, and all the rain we had the whole time I was off is finally gone and it will be sunny and clear all this week Hmm

I missed Princess Heidi's birthday yesterday!  Happy belated birthday pretty girl!  I am so glad your momma got herself a new flashy box now we will get to see lot's more pics!

I am going to miss getting that 2:00 in the afternoon nap, I am already yawning here.  LOL, that is the only bad thing about having so much vacation left in Dec.  I dont think I have had to work a whole week since Thankgiving.

    Have a good day all!

It was so nice to wake up to blue skies and sunshine this morning!  A little chilly, but that's OK.  It's overcast now, but I don't think there's any serious rain in the immediate future. I need to find my coupons and dash off to Safeway to see if there's anything I can't live without, then stop at the vets to pick up a 6 month supply of heartworm meds. If there's anything else I need to remember to do, I've already forgotten what it was. Indifferent

Today is my last day off work.  Truthfully, I would be perfectly happy never working another day in my life.  I would actually love to be a leave it to beaver stay at home housewife/mother.  The house gets cleaned so often when I am at home on "vacation".  LOL.  Perhaps I just need a job that thrills me.  I have grown quite bored with mine.  It's so slow in the winter.  It's much better in the summer when we are super busy.

Back to cleaning the house.  Then I have to shower and look cute for when DH gets home and I am making Shepherd's Pie for dinner.  Indian style.  Yum.

     Stopping by to say hi!

For anyone who might be interested, parents, teachers, grandparents, other people who know a kid probably between about 3-7 who isn't reading yet, or isn't reading as well as they should be, this program is free during January  funnix. It's bound to be pretty good, given that it is based on a very excellent program. No, I am not paid to sell it, I am getting it free too, and recommending it for all the kids I work with who aren't reading.

Tina, I hate it when I have trouble grinding.

Meg, you're on fire lately!!!  If you read real close you'll realize she DIDN'T have any problems grinding!!!   :)  hehe  Sending some cyber slaps to your son Tina for losing the remote and smoking inside!!!  DON"T MESS WITH MY REMOTE!!!

LOL @ Julie not blowing!!!  Hope you're getting better and not getting sick!  Rest, Rest, Rest!

Mindy, congrats on the new family member...how exciting!!!

Deb...is the headache gone yet???  Where's the new boots?

Karen....did you take Bugsy to the vet to see what's wrong???  I'm worried now!

Sharon...cool gift!  Gotta luv the GPS's!

Hmmm, an afternoon nap sounds awesome BUT there's a hockey game on soon between Canada and the USA.  GOOOO CANADA!!!!  My knee is FINALLY back to working order.  Didn't even need meds!  My legs feel like noodles now from all the biking over the past few days...up to 20k daily now!  Yay for a cooperating knee!

Speaking of Dr. Oz.....has anyone ever checked out the realage site??  I encourage you all to check it out and give it a try.  It's fun and interesting at the same time....plus some of the tips they send daily are great!  I've gotta do my realage again soon to see where I'm at!

Anywho, hugs and good vibes to all that need them.

Mindy my bad I totally forgot to say congrats and welcome to the new nephew!  Looking forward to seeing the pics of him with sticky-up hair

Johnny great news on your knee - I have banged up knees from too much insanity when I was young and the best thing ever is cycling for them.  If they start to bother me I just add cycling to my exercise and they get better so much quicker!

I got Bugsy a new bed from Costco - they have such great deals

I've used and agree that it's pretty interesting. My age came back 2 or 3 yrs younger than I actually am but the main reason it wasn't better was because my mom died of ovarian cancer at 44 and my sister was dx with breast cancer at 41. I've had the genetic testing done and I don't carry the mutation but it doesn't allow for inputting that info.

Griffin - that link didn't work but I'd be interested in checking it out. We're an alternative high school but some of our students might benefit from a reading program, even if it is geared to a younger audience.

Karen - I posted on your FB page but I wanted to add here that you did a great job on that interview. You didn't look nervous at all and unlike some people I see doing segments like that, you didn't come across as an overly happy cheerleader.

Thanks Cathy - fortunately ( for this occasion) there's not been a day of my life I could pull off the overly happy cheerleader.

it's a beautiful day here but gosh its cold again - bleck

Cathy, the last time I did the realage test I was 1 year younger.  I'm hoping it'll be lots better next time I do it.  It really helps to put things into perspective though!

The website I mentioned earlier is funnix.com Not going to try to link this time since it didn't work earlier. Honestly, this should be a really good program. It's a shame that more schools are not implementing programs like this. It is based on programs which were found to be effective in the most expensive study of education the US government has ever paid for, which was very long running. Despite the findings of the study, very few schools actually use what was found. And we wonder why kids in the US graduate school unable to read.

I emailed it to my reading instructor and am going to download it when I get a little more free time, and our DSL is sucking less. Looks cool though. I read their website for a sec and I think I remember something about having an adult sit with the reader? Do you think, in a classroom, a higher-level student would work?

I'd just like to say that I made one kick *butt* Shepherd's Pie tonight.  This is only the second time DH and I have made Shepherd's Pie and this time I made it myself and it was a lot better than the first time.  Luckily, I made enough for two pies so I froze one of them!  We make an "Indian" Shepherd's Pie......in an effort to duplicate my former roomates mother's receipe.....still not duplicated and probably never will be, but it is GOOD.

    Mmmm shepherd's pie!

Busy day here.  Got school done early this morning, was surprised ds was such a trooper!  Yahoo!

Bella's (cocker spaniel I petsat since dec. 16) went home today.  I am sitting here and I miss her presence!!  She was one of the nicest cockers I've known.  But it's nice to be down to 3 dogs again.

Made a really good stir fry. Haven't made stirfry in a long time.  Nice and healthy veggies. Nom.
