Do your dogs hate expensive toys?

Do you feel like everytime you buy your dog an incredibly cute (an expensive) new dog they decide they love the dirtiest ugliest toy in the bin?

This has happened to me with Lizzie. I bought her this 6 dollar squeekie and she totally ignores it! On the other hand she is totally obsessed with this tiny Hello Kitty that my little sister found in a parking lot!! LOL

I'll feel kinda bad when she gets bigger and I have to take it away. She is so wild she will probably swallow it.

My Moms Golden is the same way. She hates all those cool toys we got her at Wal Mart. But she is obsessed with the tiny toys they give out at McDonalds in the Happy Meals. She will go beserk if any other dog tries to steal them They are her 'babies'

I've found what types of toys my dogs like and stick to those.  I don't get to buy the really cool or cute ones that *I* want,  but at least they play with what I buy.  Of course, I've got hundreds of dollars of toys lying around and what do they want -- the paper towel rolls!!!  I haven't found the new pups' toy preferences yet, so at least the paper towel rolls are free.[;)]

Well JJ actually likes toys, NEW TOYS!!  Though sometimes I would find her playing around with her old toys.  What's soo funny is back then when she was 1-3 months old, she love playing around with the empty towel /tissue roll rather then the kong toy or etc.  Now a days, even socks makes her happy.  So I would give her my old clean socks to chew on, simply stuff it up and tie a knot and she would have hours of fun.  hahahahha!  [:)]

I let Gizmo pick out her toys and usally she likes them. I often take her to petco or petsmart, don't cair which one as long as she can go in the store with me. There I take her to the toy section hold up several choices in toys and whatever ones she responds to the best I buy for her. Usally something round and squeeky or any ball or frisbee. I have done the same for her food bowl and other random stuff I buy for her.

I buy Ben toys, which he will play with, (he likes balls and anything squeaky) but his favourite toys?  Paper towel rolls, empty coke bottles and a pringles tube.  I replace the paper towel rolls when they get too soggy and inspect everything else daily for punctures, but other than that little bit of maintenance I just leave him to it.  He knows what he likes and far be it for me to intrude LOL.

Depends what mood Kane is in but he likes the plastic coke bottle, his squeaky toys, balls, stuffed teddy bear and he also has a little dust pan broom that he loves. He stole it about 12 months ago and now every time I get the broom out to sweep he will go get his it's funny to watch it's like he wants to help. He also likes to pinch beer bottle tops when he can get in the garage to the bin he likes throwing them I think it's the sound of them hitting concrete.

Oh my god, first I have to say that I WISH $6 was an expensive dog toy for me! I have been known spend $15-20 on a single dog toy... several times. [sm=blush.gif]

I used to spend a small fortune in dog toys until finally I realized I was utterly wasting my money. Russell likes tennis balls, bully sticks, and his one treat ball... everything else is a total waste of money. Sure, he adores stuffies, for the 10 minutes before he rips the head off and it goes in the garbage can. Yeah, never again. Sorry little buddy. [sm=lol.gif]

Uhh... I have about 75000 toys. Which both of my dogs ignore.

Emma plays with Old Navy frisbees (nothing else is good enough for her!), empty water bottles, and her Orbee ball. Literally, she rarely picks up anything else.

Teenie occasionally gathers the hide-a-squirrels, and washes and nurses them all, LOL.

Maggie is pretty good at caring for her toys.  Sometimes she will pick them all up and move them to one spot in the houe and snuggle with them all.  She plays with all of her toys, i guess it depends on what mood she is in.

sydney is an indiscriminate toy destroyer.... expensive cheap doesnt matter he likes to kill all toys! [:D]

I am fortunate that Maddi thinks everything is a toy, so nothing goes to waste. Some toys are sitting high up on shelves though, waiting for holes to be sewn shut.

She loves empty paper towel rolls and egg cartens, but, alas, she also EATs them, so I can't give them to her. *sigh.*

Dasher is a detroyer as well, so no stuffies for him as they meet their maker within minutes!! Dasher likes his kongs, bully sticks, cuz, and tennis balls.  I have to get the "real" tennis balls, not the funky dog print or colored balls b/c for some reason those are not as strong and Dasher will pop them. [:D]

Lille has always loved her bumper..nothing else, pretty easy. [;)]

Odie also destroys all stuffies within minutes, so we stick to tennis balls (the real kind, not the dog kind), ropes, and the firehose toy. He's also a big fan of socks, so whenever I find a sock without a partner come out of the dryer, I knot it up and Odie goes to town! [sm=happy.gif]

    HEY, RUSSELL AND ERIN!!!!!!!!

Hershey and Daisy destroy all toys in no time. They pull the stuffing out of the stuffed animals, pull the fuzz off of tennis balls, shred ropes. I stick with bones. Although they do have a few balls that have holes in them but they still play with.
