    rw-Halloween approacheth

Ya'll already know I am doing the Pirate thing this year, hence the kinky boots.

Now Lily, I got her this Red Riding Hood costume because it was cool, and it reminded me of that young woman from the movie "The Company of Wolves".

She'll wear black legging under tho because the skirt is too short IMO. Mom will do some taking in too because it's probably a bit big...LINKY

Elias? he has NO input for me...just "whatever, I don't know" so we'll probably end up at the store week before frantically buying whatever is left LOL! He has a "Mayor" obsession right now and heck if I know a costume for that. All the Mayoral stuff I find is from Oz lol!

dh is on his own but if he DOESN'T dress up he's going to look totally lame next to me and my Pirate hotness when we go out...

We always do the T o' T'ing in the same neighborhood...it's on a Sunday this year so hopefully this rather religious part of the country doesn't "move" it to Saturday like some states/cities do...that'd tick me off.

Anyone else as stoked as I am? it's like in my top 2-3 Favorite Holidays...love it!

Trick or treating has really died down in my area.  I think all the kids go to parties and/or the malls.  I think I had one kid last year.  Good thing I bought 92 thousand bags of mini snickers.

Gosh I sure hope you "liberated" those mini snickers Deb. They can't breathe inside their wrappers you know...they need to be, loved. To feel a part of something greater than themselves. *cackles*

I'm a Halloween scrooge.  I don't give out candy.  Too many high school kids out begging and I have literally seen little kids get knocked down.

I popped them, like olives, into my martinis.

I have heard of chocolate martini's. No idea that's how they were made. *blinks innocently*

I am I've been ready to decorate since the beginning of this month but my family tells me I'm nuts and it's to early but come Sept 29-30 that's it I'm gonna decorate. I already got Copper he's costume he's gonna be a turtle lol. I'm throwing a halloween party this year but I can't find a costume I guess plus size is only 18-20 my pants size is 16-18 I'm top heavy so no clue what size I would wear lol

Luke has his old turtle costume that he didn't wear last year. I don't have a costume but I got a shirt from old navy to wear. I may get one yet. I started decorating earlier this week, but I need more lights, which I think I will get LEDs but they are so expensive. It'll be better though since they'll last longer and use less electricity. They had cool multiple colored ones at Target.

Oh wow, it's that time again! I need to get going on costume ideas....

Do they celebrate in school? If they do at my school I'll probably go Griff's route and get an Old Navy t-shirt to wear so the kids don't think I'm a total no-fun-er, but I don't dress up, or dress the dogs up. Tiki was the cutest witch last year, though.

I love seeing the little ones dressed up - LOVE it!  our neighborhood really DOES Halloween some of the displays are incredible, I have some stuff but usually focus on a nice fall display.

I have never had any interest in dressing up though.  I really hate it. DH on the other hand likes to dress up and scare the kids LOL and put some scary stuff in the yard. That all works until Bugsy steals part of a display and runs around the yard with it.

As for the beast - I've given up trying to 'dress him up' he hates bandannas and when I switched over to just a men's t shirt he somehow managed to find a way to eat it off of himself.  Bugsy = weird So no more costumes for him

Trick or Treating has pretty much died away here too.  A few little kids in the neighborhood, but nothing to justify the big bowl of candy that calls my name out every time I walk past it.  I'd get candy I don't like, but I haven't found that yet.

I love halloween!!  I decorate the house and everything, I have this:    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HicNrPUrlVQ  except derek hates it, because it goes off even if you walk by the bathroom door in the hallway lol

I love decorating my house for halloween!!

I also have bloody hand prints and dripping blood i can put on the glass of my front door that can be seen from the street when people drive by, but I'm wondering whether or not I should put that up this year, seeing as a woman in my town was recently murdered in her home and blood was all over the place, and the front of her house and down her driveway....and it's not a very big town, so I don't know whether that would be of poor taste

I got the new *Grandin Road* mostly halloween catalog in the mail today and I am drooling!  I love that catalog, even though it's over the top and way too expensive.  Really.  Even if I had an extra $499 sitting around ... would I buy a life size (6' tall) statue of Mortimer the Butler to stand in the entry?  Mmm.  Probably.  So it's a good thing I don't have it. Maybe I'll get the 5' skeleton instead.  He's *only* about $80.00 *sigh*  *drool some more*

Meri is going as a princess this year. My cousin made her this awesome princess dress. You can sort of see it in this picture. Its blue satin. SHe is princess crazed! You see the picture right? Crazed I tell you! lol. And good idea on red riding hood costume. meri was red riding hood  last year and scout was the big bad wolf. I'm contemplating dressing scout up as her royal steed. Hahahaha!
