He's fine. :)  Doesn't know that anything is wrong or was wrong.  Silly guy.

Leslie I'm soooooo happy for you & Kota.  Having had a dog that had DM I was hoping that Kota wasn't going to be another.  Here's to many healthy years together & that this is just a case of the wonkies.  How's he doing now?  Please give those amazing ears of his some rubbies from me.

Question for you, how did you find out about the DM in your dog?  Was it all of a sudden there?  Looking back, were there possible signs before diagnosis? What was the final "thing" that diagnosed it?

Honestly, Lucy was a lifetime ago as far as my dog knowledge goes.  I always worried about her hips for some reason.  She was getting wobbly & I joke about wishing I could just ratchet her hips tighter.  She was also slippy on uncarpeted floors & stairs.  I also wanted to rubberize her feet so she wouldn't slip so much.  I really didn't give it much thought since it was slow onset & it really wasn't bothering her, or so it seemed.

The way I found out was she had a vet appointment for something, can't remember what & it really doesn't matter why now.  We walked into the exam room & the vet blurted out "oh she's got DM.  There's nothing you can do for it & it's only going to get worse."  Um, hi, nice to meet you too.  That just blew me away & I didn't ask for any more info.  I found a new vet.  One that had a little better mix of people skills/animal knowledge.

That's so great to hear!  Give the little fellow some rubs and scritches for me.
