So this morning was the "regular" vet -- I don't have the bloodwork yet (tomorrow) but he cleaned her ears deeply (thankful that Dr. D restrained herself last night cos she left it so HE could see today). So she's on Zymox daily (with the blue power ear stuff at the other end of the day).
But amongst all else he did he did a super fecal -- no parasites but she's got a gut full of bacteria. (which is exactly what Dr. D said - she just said it in TCVM speak rather than micorscope speak LOL). He gave me metranydazole which I'll use IF the stuff Dr. D gave me doesn't kick it w/in 5 days (the two things she wants me to give her that are herbs WILL kill the bacteria -- it literally was the same diagnosis ... which really tickled me)
It's too funny -- I was trying to teach her "Donate" (which is my word for Billy to "hold it" til we get to the vet and then let the girls collect a fresh sample EASY -- he will literally hold it until they get the pan down there and say "Donate";) cos she thot I'd lost my mind not letting her pee before we left home (isn't it in the RULES you gotta pee before you get in Mom's car???)
The one tech came outside and chased her liddle butt for a few seconds but then she obliged -- "but dang -- she stuck that blue thing UNDER me and then I couldn't STOP!!!" Then I said "Tink GOOD GIRL that's DONATE!!"
Yes, my dog did think I was certifiable -- but she's connected word with deed now and got heavily praised for it by both the tech and I so .... sometimes you just gotta humor the humans ya no???
The homotox treatments she gets from Dr. Demers involves him taking a little blood from her each time and then he makes a serum from her blood to treat the skin ... and it DID usually make her feel better pretty quick (back when she was itchy from the demodex.
So MY dog thinks when somebuddy takes blood from her it's supposed to make her BETTER. So she was no problem for the blood draw this morning -- and heck -- THEY HAD TREATS!!!
I saw the slide myself this morning and yep -- "bacteria overgrowth" about describes it. Easily fixed (and wouldh't happen if I could disconnect her mouth from stuff she shouldn't EVER eat *sigh* -- I SO wish I could walk her to potty but I can't).
She'll start to feel better now -- I'm just glad it was all easily fixable. But I can't wait to see that bloodwork --
