I forget how competetive Dobes are. She is really lovely. She has a fantastic head and front, and I love her topline.  She's very feminine, and that's one of the things I really love about Dobes. Girly girls and manly boysWink

Thank you so much! I like her too ;)

Not to mention an absolutely fabulous disposition! Why have i gone so long without dobes in my life??

All the dogs are so darn gorgeous on this thread!

She really is a stunner!!  But, man Dobe's are crazy competitive, so I totally understand where you are coming from. You can often have a beautiful dog getting Reserve because of the pro on the the Winner who isn't nearly as nice. Eh.  Part of the game, I guess, but a frustrating part!  I love her crop, I think it's maybe the best crop I've ever seen... gorgeous!!

Nobody loves them.  Their heartless owner just wanted to have "pretty" dogs.  Zip it!

Thanks! I love her crop too. My breeder takes all the pups to Sam Grant (who is also the breeder of Kaywood dobes and Jo's sire) for their crops. It ended up being worth several months of this...

    to get these

Gobie's widdle tail. Not necessary for peeing on a tree. Also great for a flippy flopper. Josie is stunning, lovely crop! I dunno. My stance is anti crop/ docks as babies. Dogs don't really seem to mind, do they? You can see his lovely natural ears as well.

    Oh....My....Gosh......Nubby overload!!!!!

    Beauties, all of them!

I really have an interest in the doberman girls now.  I would love one when the time is right.   My friends mom has one and I've pet sat for her.  I can already hear people talking behind my back now. . ."oh, she likes those "aggressive" breeds.

How much does Josie weigh now??  Is she fully grown yet?

Ya just got prove 'em wrong! Josie has her CGC and passed her therapy certification test, but is also becoming protective in the appropriate situations (car being approached, etc) i can take her anywhere and she is excellent with everyone, including children.

She is 62 lbs and might just fill out a little more. Her parents were both in the 70-75 lb range. I'll be honest, i'll never ever even consider being without a dobe ever again!!

I can understand.  I feel that way about chows too.  I love the breed and understand it.

    Thanks for the info!

No prob! Too bad you're not closer and could meet her- and the boys too.

If you ever think about getting a dobe, i've talked to pretty much every breeder in the country lol. Plus, you have Amanda and Paige too!

I've decided to confiscate every single one of these tortured dogs for their own welfare.

    That is all.

Thank you! Grace Moore evaluated the litter after their ears were done and deemed her as a pet quality. I had another breeder friend take a look at her recently and she said her front end was good, but back end not so good. She said she thought she could've probably finished with a handler. But  honestly, i wouldn't want to deal with the heats and all the politics of showing. Josie's breeder thinks she looks pretty good too, but did not repeat the breeding.

I was wondeirng if you had plans of showing her too. She is very pretty!

Dobes are an extremely hard breed in AKC for sure. You almost have to have a handler to even have a chance, especially with majors. If you changed your mind and wanted to try showing though, UKC shows are a lot of fun and are more about actually judging the dog. They don't allow handlers and it is much more casual. http://www.ukcdogs.com/WebSite.nsf/WebPages/Home

IME it isn't uncommon for breeders to not repeat litters, even if they really liked them. There are a lot of very influential litters which were never repeated.
