THIS IS A SCAM!! Do not send any money!!
    • Gold Top Dog
Ok, that said, PLEASE do not purchase a puppy online!!!!

A reputable breeder will want to communicate extensively with you and you should want to meet the puppy and its parents in person.

I have to run, I'm sure more people will post advice... I'll check back later. Good luck and I'm so sorry about the loss of your Polo[:(].

Personally, I would be concerned. I would expect pictures. Information of the pedigree. Many times you will find scams regarding dogs now. I receive several e-mails a week from people who want to buy my dogs.

I would look locally for a dog
    • Gold Top Dog
Go to the nearest shelter.  Ask to be notified when small dogs come in.  Go to the shelter every couple of days.  The dog who needs you as much as you need them will be there.  Just a bit of patience.  Run away from this other option as fast as you can.

Nigeria + the request of a western union wire transfer = SCAM.

i did look locally, so i found the post from the seller, but she said that they sold all their puppies. BUT they have a customer that bought one from them but she want to resell it, because she cant take care of the puppy because she is moving away. *sigh* all this is so confusinggg.. what should i do? i asked her for pictures, so i am waiting, and i asked her to scan all the paper work. how does that sound?

i dont have much, 400 dollars includning shipping for a yorkie is just wayyy too good to be true huh? but she is moving away and she really want to get rid of the puppy so thats why shes giving it away in such a low price.

i had a friend who had another friend that was giving away puppies, but they didnt know me so they didnt want to give it to me. i offered to pay... and she agree... i waited all day to get the puppy... but then she changed her mind and gave it to someone else.. it broke my heart, i cried for days.. *sigh*... i want a puppy so bad but i need a small dog because i live in small house and i want to be able to travel with my baby. its so hard finding the right puppy. *sigh* this is all i could think about all day and night.

have any of u guys bought a puppy online before? how did it work out?

Nigeria + the request of a western union wire transfer = SCAM.

so a western union wire transfer isnt a safe way to pay?

DO NOT BUY A PUPPY ONLINE.

Go tohttp://www.petfinder.com and look for a puppy there. You can put in your area and the breed you want and get plenty of good local referrals to legitimate adoptions. And it won't cost you $400.

Save yourself the loss of your money and big heartbreak, do not buy from this person, it is a scam.
They can steal pictures of puppies from other sites and send them to you to make it look like they have a puppy when they DON'T. They can forge papers and scan them in. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS PERSON.

I know you are heartbroken and want a puppy badly. That's what this scammer is counting on.

I have received almost that EXACT same email before. It's a scam. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not waste your money on this. I wish I had saved those emails so I could post them for you so you would know that I'm not just saying that, but I honestly have gotten almost that exact email. I also receive emails from people who want to buy Ash and the emails are very similar to the one you have posted. Go to a shelter. If you don't want to do that, find a reputable breeder where you can have more extensive contact and actually meet them.

100% SCAM-OLA. Even if you DO get pictures chances are they are STOLEN from other people's ads and websites. If you cannot afford a puppy from a reputable breeder you can visit...or check up on via other breeders...then spend that $400 adopting a small breed mix that needs your help [:D]

This is a total scam and if you send them any money..any way...kiss it goodbye.

BTW this is legit right? You're not just fishing her to get a rise out of us?

ETA: Don't be too offended I asked this last....I have trouble believing at times, that there are ;people still out there so naive that they think WU is a safe way to send money. My apologies.
    • Gold Top Dog
I think you know this is a scam.  You miss your dog and were hoping.  The other poster was correct in saying Nigeria + sending money = SCAM.  No matter the subject, puppy, car whatever.  Besides, shipping a puppy from Africa isn't as easy as just putting it on a plane - there are heath tests, documentation, etc.  And if this puppy were in a loving home, wouldn't it have a name?

Ah, would it were so!  Read this snippet from a website devoted to Nigerian Scams:

The Nigerian Scam is, according to published reports, the Third to Fifth largest industry in Nigeria. It is the 419 Coalition view that, in effect, the elites from which successive Governments of Nigeria have been drawn ARE the Scammers - therefore, victims have little recourse in this matter. Monies stolen by 419 operations are almost Never Recovered from Nigeria.

    Can you BELIEVE that?!
