 Ugh, I'd be mad too. I always wonder about Zoey since I have no proof of how old she actually is. keep us updated on the recent vet visit.

well most males actually have a whitish substance that at times comes forth from the sheath. It is lubricant and is normal. NOT normal includes discharge that is bloody, green or yellow, or has a very foul odor. But a whitish substance alone is not indicative of a testicle being retained...it certainly is not semen.

It can be frustrating when you don't have the proof. :-/ Thankfully he doesn't seem to have any issues from being taken away from his mother too soon. Hopefully it stays that way...

I've had pups that young have both...and I've had them come down as late as 6months old! I do think tho that would not have bothered to neuter him if there was nothing in the sac? I suppose it's better to know than not but you really would have to do a THOROUGH ultrasound because they can be ANYWHERE in the body, in theory. Our cat's retained testicle was down on the inside of a hind leg right at the hock!

I really hope this is a mix up and he really wasn't that young when we got him, even though it's not my fault I feel guilty. :-/

 Misha has that and is neutered. He was neutered at 8 months, but at 8 weeks the vet said that they'd neuter him whenever I was ready.

Plenty of uninformed people bring puppies home before the recommended 10-12ish weeks. The biggest worry is lack of socialization leading to no "dog social skills," and it seems that Simba is fine playing with other dogs, right?

IMO as long as you guys keep working hard at training and socializing, the 6 weeks thing will never be a big deal. Unless he needs to go sit on the couch of a doggie psychiatrist and talk to them about his mommy issues.

Yes he plays with other dogs just fine, though sometimes he doesn't get the hint when a dog isn't interested. :P I think that's any puppy though. We do socialize him and train him a lot, so yeah I hope that everything turns out just fine. Haha! Lets hope that never happens. :P

Hm that's interesting. I always get confused with the whole 'when the right time' is. Some people say 8 weeks is too early. So confusing. :-/

Ive always thought 8 weeks is too young to leave thier mother. But, if you are going to take the time to teach the dog and socialize them then I dont think its that bad. Im also all for late altering (It drives me crazy that they are allowed to be altered so young)

Just kidding! Bummer that you were lied to, but like the others said, just make sure to continue socializing him. Rupert was neutered at 1 year, and he gets that white stuff also.

Haha! I hope your kidding, otherwise I'll be very sad.  Yeah I know, I'm giving the benefit of the doubt and say that they messed it up with all the dogs they have, but I'm sure my mom will get to the bottom of it.  I wish Simba wasn't neutered so young, can't they just have people sign a contract that they have to be spayed/neutered at a certain age or they have the right to a fine or something along those lines? :-/
