Tuesday Chatter

Tina, one word about the sewer guy.  No.  He has that many kids under 18?  He's got to be tapped out with child support payments. lol  Hold out for this PT guy.  I saw him again this morning and I think he winked at me.  Maybe I winked at him, not sure. lol   If you're going to wash some guy's clothes wouldn't you rather wash good clean sweat than sewer gunk?  lol

Jackie, he actually owns the business and he's quite successful, so he delegates!  He is paying his ex a lot in child support, but from what he said, I think it's a business expense.  He pays her a salary like when they were married and she worked in his offices.  And he is running for mayor of the city he lives in - which is sort of an up-and-coming area.  BUT...it's still 4 rugrats that need raising.  And if the guy is that fertile, I don't think I want to get that close.  Besides, he off-handedly commented that he's not looking to get back into the dating game, not because I asked, but he's one of those chatty guys, and he was talking about how he'd lost some weight after his older son told him he was fat and out of shape.  So, in a nutshell, don't worry, I'm still free for the PT guy!

Also, great news about Charles's progress.

Erica, so sorry about Joon.  Run free little kitty...

No kidding, he's got some strong swimmers and you best keep your distance.  So, he delegates.  The dirty work?  So, did he make an exception for your drain?  So, he mentioned in casual conversation that he's not interested in getting back into the dating game.  So, my antennae are quivering with the smell of a man on the hunt for the mother of his next six kids.  lol   Run, run for your life.  If your drains back up again, make sure he's not doing it on the sly to have an excuse to chat you up and size up your pelvic bone width.

Can you guys tell I am in a fantastic good mood?

Yes I can tell you are in a fantastic mood and yes, ma'am, your points are noted!

Shopping generally refers to things you're "shopping" for in your life.  The fact that it was with old friends, who encountered even older "friends" - ie, the ex-bf, tells me you're reminiscing for things/people in your past - aspects that you enjoyed - particularly the holiday parties?

I haven't attempted to contact her....call it petty and whatnot, but I'm not ready to unless she has time for me.
You won't know if she has time for you unless you call her.  You may lose out on this time with her now if you wait for her to call you - she might have actually been sending out the subliminal message that she misses you, too, but is afraid to call.  Fear will rob you of a lot of things, like good times with friends.

Interesting... thanks. That's basically what I thought - but I'm not much for really thinking into things - I'm more of the 'in one ear, out the other' type...

I do miss her....well, let me rephrase. I miss her before she was consumed with the bf. I like him - he's a nice guy - a bit young, but surprisingly mature. But it started to get to the point that if I wasn't coming in for my morning coffee - I wasn't seeing/talking to her. My bf says I just need to wait her out...I don't know if that's what I want to do. Guess that's another difference between guys and gals. Bleh. Sad

On another note... we dissected cats in my anatomy class today. yuck.

Cathy,  feel better and I second the hot toddy for your throat.  I'll come over and make some for both of us.  lol

You coming over and sharing a hot toddy with me would make being sick worthwhile. :)

I am thrilled about the news on Charles. I know exactly what you mean about taking things that normally wouldn't have given you pause and wondering if it's something more. I also know that after I had my surgery, I had a few weeks of a fuzzy brain (more so than usual). I attributed some of it to the meds I'd been on but I think a lot of it is just that every part of your routine is thrown off. It sounds like Charles is doing amazingly well and I couldn't be more happy for the both of you.

One of our staff from S.F. stopped by today and wanted to print some stuff on my computer. We plugged the flash drive in and printed about 8 or 9 documents and then got to a .pdf file and it wouldn't print it. I didn't think much of it until I tried to print something else and realized I couldn't print anything on any of the 3 printers I'm networked on. Drove me crazy trying to fix it before I finally called our IT person. She remoted in and spent another hour working on it, but it's finally fixed. Whew, you don't realize how dependent you are on technology until you lose it.

Erica -- I can't say anything about your dream, but I can throw in my two cents on the friend. My friend Alex and I did this for about the past four years, and just when he was really starting to work on things... he passed away. I can't help but feel guilty for all that lost time, though the reason for our big upset was and is something I still feel strongly about. I also have a friend I haven't talked to in a year and a half because we got to a point where we were really ugly to each other. I e-mailed him after Alex's funeral, just to tell him I was thinking of him and hoped he was okay. Maybe you could do that? Just a quick e-mail saying something along the lines of that you saw she changed her picture, and you've been thinking of her? Also... sorry about Joon. Sad

Jackie -- I'm glad that Charles has an excellent memory! (And I'm glad I wasn't being tested either... eep.)

All you cake seekers are making me desperately wish I had more money than sense! When I will have delicious and ridiculous cakes to celebrate things like... Thursday. Maybe I'll try making a cake after I get my wisdom teeth out...

Today is better for me. The professor who said no, is actually just like me and has some issues with the ability to email and not come across as... a jerk. I talked to her and gave her a list of things my partner and I are willing to do instead (go early, do extra papers and/or record the presentation so it can be shown the day of). She said she'd talk to the head teacher, who, in my experience, allows for the experience of life before absolutely requiring schoolwork. She believes that people are the most important things in our lives, and that some experiences are more than you'd ever get out of the classroom. Hope my assessment is correct. And I didn't cry while talking to her... though my voice cracked a couple of times...Embarrassed

     8:08 and I am sleepy

I will NEVER remember all the entries - not even worth trying

frightening to acknowledge the bits that I can remember

mmmmmm hot toddy's might have one myself

Jackie great news re Charles!! Doing a happy dance - OK thinking of a happy dance too tired for doing one

sorry about the teeny kitten Erica

    Tina LOL that is all

I bought Bugsy a new kiddie pool today!  I missed out last year so he had to use a leaky one.  Got one of the first ones from Walmart had to open the plastic wrap that was on all of them. Big Smile It is a lovely bright yellow!

I just finished my Excel lesson and their server crashed so I'll have to retake the quiz.

Mowed the weeds today - shouldn't have mowed until the grass seed sprouted but couldn't take it any longer

Annie I am so sorry about your reflux - hopefully you can't get that sorted out quickly.

Soft tummies - I am carrying an extra 3-4lbs this winter and irritated about it but I am eating more than I should so no surprises.  For instance I stopped and got a yummy milkshake on my way home from a meeting today. I don't normally do those things but I really fancied it.  Oh well I'll get it off once I really want to

I love listening to Bugsy sleep - which he is doing next to me - very relaxing

Bugsy sleeping made me think of Gracie, who groans and grunts when she's settling into a position, or if I lean on her when she's sleeping.  I heart that noise.  Lani has heard it over the phone before.

The snow storm outside is apparently affecting the power inside my building.  FOr the past 40 mins or so, there have been periodic dips where lights dim, humming machines pause for a second, and then it pops back up.... We're expected to get 10-12 inches tonight/tomorrow.  I wonder if the building will be open tomorrow.

Erica -- I can't say anything about your dream, but I can throw in my two cents on the friend.

I know.... and I know I'm no more in the right here than she is. I just kept thinking, it'll pass - she'll call. And when she didn't... well, it hurt :(

And on ANOTHER note (you must all swear I have total ADD today) I'm wierded out by something I just found out.... some people just can't let go of their past... and that's all I can say on a public forum. BUT - I can share more in a PM, if you're curious.

Yuck on the wisdom teeth thing... I looked like a chipmunk!

And, thanks to all that have yogurt in their fridge. I had to stop at the grocery store after class, because I was craving it. You'll all be happy to know the dogs and I are once again, supplied with yogurt....

    • Gold Top Dog

Yogurt to me is all wrong in texture. I sort went eeww every time I saw someone had yogurt. I especially do not like that Trix yogurt. It smells like something definitely not out of nature.

Ok, who wants to come over and watch Sonja so I can go to bed? *sigh*

Willa sat on the couch next to me tonight when I was nursing Sonja, and she pulled her jammie top down and tried to "nurse" her doll. Embarrassed

My professor just e-mailed me... I get to go! I have to do my presentation with 6 days fewer preparation than my classmates... but I can go. Big Smile

Erica, my best friend died eleven months ago, & we had been distant for quite a while before her passing.  We only became close again in the months prior to her passing.  I would give anything to have that year, that we were barely speaking to each other, back.  I will always regret the way that I handled our situation.

    Jan, I'll babysit for you!

Adork, congrats on getting to make the trip!

My boy is coming home tomorrow!!!!  The drain tube was pulled this morning, & it looks good.  He has a "normal" amount of swelling, & he's being a jackass at Dr. B's house.  This morning, he stripped the sheets off of a bed, dragged them into the living room, & "re-made" the bed on the living room floor.  He rubbed his nose raw in the process.  Then, he swiped Dr. B's breakfast.  After that, he settled in & attempted to remove his sutures, which landed him in a bite not collar.  I can't wait to get the big goober back home!

Cher grunts & groans when she's trying to get comfortable.  She also grunts when she repositions herself.  It's very cute & endearing.
