May I vent, please? Lorib

It's too early, but if that happened to me, I wouldn't er... lose any sleep over it.  I'd have probably been grateful that someone thought of me and wanted to come over for company, tbh!  I'd have said "Company sounds great, but can I call you when I wake up?!"

Chuffy, you're very kind when awakened.

My response is more along the lines of, "RRRRRROAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!"

    Seriously. Just ask BF. Wink

Although, to be fair, I am restrained enough to ignore the call and not pick up, so the other party doesn't hear me loudly cursing and raving. Then, the next time we talk, I very politely thank the person for their interest and request that they call during different hours.

I am also a somewhat light sleeper, and once awakened by something (like a phone call), usually can't get back to sleep afterwards. So if I went to bed at 2 am (not unusual) and you call to wake me up at 7 am, when I was planning to sleep until 9 or 10, I am not going to be a happy camper.

When calling the house that early, be mindful of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.

Honestly, I wouldn't be annoyed because I wouldn't have recalled the conversation! I am infamous for answering the phone when sleeping. I will hold a conversation with you (a fairly intelligent one at that, so I've been told). But, I won't recollect it the next day. Unless you say things like, emergency, fire, hospital, dying, accident - I won't fully wake up.

That said, I stick to the rule to not call people before 9 during the week, and unless I really know you, I won't call before 10am on the weekend. I'm up early 7 days a week (by 7am), so it wouldn't make too much difference for me.

To paraphrase Charles Emerson Winchester III, A Lorib only recognizes one seven o:clock per day, and this isn't it.

I never have this problem - no house phone (land-line), box fan on high all night, no cell phone within hearing range.  Big Smile

I never call anyone I don't know really well between 10am - 8pm.  I don't even call business early b/c since I work in a call center I know what it's like to have two dozen people come in early and then all call in as soon as the phone queue opens at 8am.
