Jan, she's beautiful, absolutely beautiful. Smile   The only thing that could be improved is for her to have puppy breath. Wink

LOL!  She is adorable!  How is Momma doing?  We are so happy to meet Sonja at last!

Thanks everyone! I still haven't had time to catch up around here. I just went through 300+ emails.

LOL Cathy! I think I've had about 14 new friend requests, too.

I'm doing ok. Just a bit sore/achy all over, but healing up nicely. I've had a migraine for about two days now. Sonja was nursing like crazy in the hospital, now that we're home I have to wake her up to feed her! Today I let her go about six hours. I was practically drowning her when she finally ate. Embarrassed  She's doing really well, though. She's pretty mellow.

Willa loves her. But she's also learning all about independence and saying NO! to everything, especially nap and bed times. We've had to bribe her to take a nap the past two days. Yesterday, we told her she could go to gramma's if she napped. Today I told her she could help me give Sonja a bath tonight if she took a nap. It worked... not sure if bribery is the best technique but oh well.

Oh, and on Thursday, my mom came and picked up Willa for a few hours so DH & I could take a nap while Sonja slept. My mom took our van because that's where Willa's car seat is. When she came home, she (my mom) was all teary and said that she hit her roommate's car when she was backing out of her driveway. I was so mad. Not what I wanted to be dealing with the day I get home from the hospital. I really don't like my mom to drive with Willa because she is such a spacey driver. She did $1,500 damage to our van. In WI, the claim has to go under the car's insurance, not the driver's. So we had to file a claim. My mom is paying the $500 deductible. I feel bad because she's using her tax returns, but we totally cannot afford it right now. Ugh!

Jan - I'm sorry about the accident your mom had with your van. I'm glad it wasn't worse though and no one, especially Willa, was hurt. Stinks about the added hassle and cost and I'm sure your mom feels crummy about it. Stinks all the way around.

Glad you're all settling in so well and hopefully Willa will continue to think helping to bathe Sonja is worth taking a nap for Wink

Janice, congratulations to you and your husband!  Sonja is a cutie, and those photos of her and Willa are just adorable.  I hope you're recovering well and that you're all settled into a comfortable routine as soon as possible (even if it takes more bribery for Willa to cooperate!).

Bummer about your van.  I don't blame you for being mad (even while being relieved no one was hurt).  The day before we got married, DH was leaving the parking lot of my Mom's apartment and backed his truck into her neighbor's car, seriously damaging her bumper (no damage to his truck).  The woman was very understanding, and of course we paid for it, but the last thing our budget needed was a several hundred dollar auto repair bill.  Between our wedding costs and our upcoming cross-country move, our funds were extremely limited.  I guess you can look on the bright side --- at least you didn't come home from the hospital to find Dwight Schroot attempting to remodel your kitchen (from the recent "The Office" episode when Pam & Jim had their baby)!

Looking forward to more photos -- take care!

P.S. -- I missed any threads about name choices -- do you pronounce her name SonJa or SonYa?  It's very pretty either way!
