Mindless Thurzday

Courtney, Agnes is alright after the other night.  I gave her another massage last night just in case she was still sore.  She's definitely a tough old dog!

Grad school choices, I wonder if you don't take the one you feel like you fit right into that you might have some resentments later on.  Separation is hard, but can be managed.  I am sure you will make the best decision - you seem very level-headed.

(((Hugs))) for comfort about your friend and your grandma.

Barb, I hope you feel better soon!

Give her some from me too. I'm sorry you've got so much on your mind right now and I hope your BF hears something soon that'll mean you can spend the next 5 yrs together in wedded bliss. :)

I have sooo much work to do and lately it feels like one step forward and two steps back. Maybe I can make a dent in some of it today and feel better.

DH finally got the office organized yesterday, so that was a very pleasant surprise to come home to.

I'm not much of a mama bear physically, but I'll add my ditto to this anyway.  I'm so sorry, Courtney.  You're such a good person and I don't like it when you're going through troubles.  I can't imagine the fear your grandmother has - I'll send some prayers that some kind of peaceful enlightenment can come to her to reassure her she's earned a positive afterlife in heaven, or where ever we go when we die.

A very important friend of mine is at the vet today with her Dobergirl.  They found a mast cell tumor on her back leg on Monday - she's maybe 4 years old.  Surgery is today.  She's the kind of crazy hard-working neurotic Dobergirl that would be Bevo's perfect girlfriend.  If you guys can spare a good thought for her, it would mean a lot.  C is a very special "meant-to-be" girl, who was born on the day her owner's heart dog died.  *please, let this have been caught early enough and all of it removed successfully*

This reminded me of something funny. I didn't used to be a huggy type of person but as I've gotten older, I do hug my friends more often. We have one staff member who lives in S.F. and I only see her every few months and I'd always given her a hug. Some time back she was telling me about visiting one of our sites and the teacher there gave her a big bear hug and she said "I hate being hugged!!". Oops Embarrassed

Paige - I will definitely keep C in my thoughts and prayers. We all know how frightening it is to go thru something like this and I'm sure her owner is worried and scared. I hope they've caught the tumor early and can treat it easily.

Grad school decisions are freaking. me. out. I got into a very prestigious program that seems pretty perfect for me. So far, BF's gotten into one prestigious program that seems perfect for him... but it's halfway across the country. And no word for him from the schools I've been accepted to. In the fall, BF and I will have been dating for 7 years, and living together for 3. I'm very concerned about our mental well-being if we have to do long-distance for 5 years of grad school! Plus, we've been talking a little bit about getting married and (eek!) even having kids within the next 5 years... that would be, IMO, impossible long-distance. At least the kids part.

Don't know what to tell you. Maybe he'll hear from some of the places you've been accepted to and that will fix your problem.

Deb, come on. I really don't need it. I'm not infected yet actually, but everything is in place for it. I am so not excited about tomorrow. I am supposed to go to the flower show with a client. Her mother must think this is really exciting, but honestly, I hate flowers. They have pollen. I doubt the kids really give a you know what about this. They're 5 and 3. If it was an animal show, the kids would be thrilled, but not flowers. I think also it was probably this kid I got sick from. That reminds me I need to speak to someone about this particular mother.

Paige, I hope your friend's dobergirl tumor was caught early enough. I'm sending some positive thoughts your way.

Courtney, I hope your BF hears from some of the schools you were accepted to, and soon! If that didn't happen, would you be able to do a year apart, then each reapply to schools again to transfer to the same school as each other? I've done long distance for awhile, it was hard, no question, but it is doable!

I feel like I work in an office of sick people, everyone seems to be sick on a rotating basis, except me! I'm getting paranoid about getting sick now though, I'm going to run home and take a bunch of Vitamin C. hehehe. It's been going on, actually, pretty much since I started here two years ago. Someone is always sick.

Maybe you could post some Timmy pics?  I'm suddenly feeling exceptionally down and sad right now.  It's sort of come out of nowhere.  I could use some Timmy mugging.  Hope you don't get sick - Vitamin C is your friend.

We're sending good thoughts for the psycho dobergirl.  Hopefully, it will be a smooth surgery, with an easy recovery & clear margins!  She sounds like my kind of girl.

The person who was hanging out with Bev & Cher to get a feel for dobes will be getting her boy on Saturday!  She fell in love with a 3 year old red rescue boy.  I'm so excited for her!

Paige, I'm sending lots of vibes for your friend's girl.

Courtney, don't fret yet...I'm sure everything will work out just great for you and BF.  Hang in there!

She sounds like my kind of girl.

She really is - she repeatedly tears up her foot pads from racing around the carpet or concrete - she flies and skid stops and goes full-bore on everything.  "Out of her mind" has been used to describe her physical antics - like jumping onto wall shelving to get to something.  Congrats on the red boy finding his new home with someone who has had a full introduction to the breed.  All best wishes for their success!

aww Paige.  I will take some new photos of Timmy when I get home tonight and post them :)

Here are a couple of pictures that are on my facebook, that may or may not have already been posted on here before, but oh well!

Yay!  I love Timmy pics!!!!  Seriously, he is too adorable, I'm quite sure I'm in love.

We're going to Pittsburgh this weekend.  I set up for a pet sitter to come by and take care of the dogs.  She told me that she'd call this week.  She hadn't called by last night so I got worried and wanted to call, but I lost the number and I couldn't remember the company name.  I called one place and left a message, they called me today and that was the wrong place.  I found another company that I thought might be it and called them.  They just called me back and it was the right place.  She's coming out tomorrow night.  I'm not real impressed so far though :(

Sending out healthy vibes for all (human and otherwise) who need them.

Fingers crossed that something do-able presents it self Cita, how stressful ((((hugs)))).

Side note: did Janice & hubby really decide to go with Sonja?

No, not 100%. We're waiting until she's born. If that ever happens. LOL. I have a c-section scheduled for Monday. But I could go into labor before then. However, at my appt, I didn't have any progress from last week. Sad

I didn't get to check back in yesterday because DH came home from work early yesterday. He was really sick with some intestinal problem and I ended up driving him to the ER at 9 pm. We didn't get home until after midnight. Ugh. It sucked. The ER doc was a ***.

Dangit. I didn't even get a chance to catch up and now Willa's already up from her nap. UGH!
