Well, shoot, I have too many fosters placed on idog to go anywhere![sm=biggrin.gif]
Seriously tho, there is a huge level of trust that I've gained in so many people here and that comes with being here for some time. And the folks I've placed pups with are folks who I was absolutely dead certain would give them wonderful forever homes. I'm not sure that there is another place on the internet that I'd find that.
When I first came to idog I was feeding my gsds Purina Large Breed Puppy, cuz thats what they vet told me to feed them. Now I feed Innova, homecooked and raw. Talk about from one end of the spectrum to the other! I also did the annual vaccines....or at least told the vets that I did, but honestly, didn't always, BUT I didn't KNOW why they weren't needed and I didn't know how dangerous they could be. And I've learned a lot about training as well. While I could never smush a pups face in a mistake and have always pretty much had a gentle manner in training, HERE I learned how to shape that into positive behaviors that worked better for my dogs. Anne gets a lot of credit for guiding me in that direction....and I'm not sure she even knows it.
I think I've probably gone from a decent owner to a good one since I've been here. And credit for that goes to the people here who have helped me learn to be better.
And there are the friendships. And the coming together as a community in time of need. WE together prayed 3 lost pups home! That's pretty astounding. And we come together for other needs as well, like the dog for the PD and like the MS Walk which is such an important thing for me.
