rw-Hep meez, the puberty fairy might be coming

I started early, got mine when I was 11.  I knew what was up and it was that big of a deal, but if you want to do your daughter a favor, explain tampons and encourage her to try them.  My mom didn't start until she was 16 and from what I could/can tell, hers always been fairly light.  I on the other hand bled for 8+ days, very heavy, constant cramping.  When I was going to do competitive gymnastics I finally got some tampons I was like "WHERE were these things the past few years and why did my mom not get me some?!?!?!"  Hopefully that's not TMI, but I was kinda mad at my mom for not encouraging me to try them and having to use pads *shudder*.  Seriously I don't think a diaper would have sufficed with some of the bleeding I had as a kid!  Now it doesn't matter since I started the pill as a teenager to lessen the flow.

Heck, I don't think I started until I was 15 or 16. I didn't get much of a talk from mom, and the talk at school just scared the jeebies out of me.

Daughter, who will be 14 next month, started a couple years ago. We've always been very open about it and talk about all kinds of 'girly' stuff. It's a big game now who can make Big Daddy more uncomfortable and embarassed. Big Smile
