Last day of 09 chat

2009 was bumpy for me.  Overall, I got River and a house, and those are both blessings.  I'm hoping that good things will come with the New Year, :-D.

Hmmm... what happened to me in 2009... lost my job, got pregnant (ooops!), and now have pregnancy brain aka no memory.

    Stick out tongue

Well, all y'all's are makin me wanna be more positive.  Let's see.

In 2009 all 3 of my kids flourished.  Kelci caught up to her agemates in size and development, despite me trying my darndest to keep her a teeny baby.  Still, its fun to see her running around, wiping her own nose and playing "Mommy" to her babies.  Kali has gotten over her fear of dogs, but is exactly as cautious as I think kids should be with animals.  Kale started Karate and his confidence has skyrocketed!  His discipline is growing too, and he has got to be the absolutely the best big brother the world has ever seen.  The dogs have finally become adult dogs, they've settled down and even Onyx has learned not to be annoying at least part of the time.

Tyler and I split up, and that is both good and bad.  It put a strain on finances, but in the aftermath of that I have really learned alot about managing them, and we're doing well.  I'm even building my credit!  But every once in a while, I still get lonely at night...

I do have to say that last night ended on a sad note.  I finally turned off my computer, lit a candle and let myself think about all the losses my friends have suffered in the pet department this year.  Starting with my sister and niece's dogs, Tucker and Snicker.  Then Susie and Nonnie, and most recently Lillie and Joker.  There were so many in between.  I won't name them, for fear of missing a few. I learned of one more last night that was very dear to her owner, and one that I had always hoped to meet some day.  So sad.

Well, 2009 wasn't great for us.  Finances were thin (like a lot of people), we somehow became pretty lazy (which I hate to admit), and we spent a great deal of time trying to "fix" MIL's depression problems.

I'm going to be positive and assume that 2010 will be a good year for us.  We are staring at a lot of changes in the comming year.  We are getting married at some point, still have to decide how/where, we are also looking at moving, to British Columbia (I'm hoping for Vancouver, I think FH is leaning towards Naniamo or Kelowna) and we are going to quit being so darn lazy.  We both love hiking/biking so we are going to get back into that. Yep.....2010 will be a good year.

    Happy New Year!

2009 was very bumpy, so bumpy I am not going to think about it, I am going to strive for positives all year long.

I do want to say a big THANK YOU, for my friends here on the forum, you guys are the bestest.

2008 and 2009, the good, the bad and the ugly.  I lost my husband in 08, and nearly lost my loved MIL 2 months later.  My son's company went under in 09, so he has been unemployed all year, and has a family to take care of.  The good...2 beautiful new granddaughters were born, one of which was our IVF miracle baby!  Oh yeah, another good was that I wasn't left a bag lady, as I used to joke about!

2010 can't go anywhere but up.  Son has joined the National Guard and is hoping his schooling for that will start up soon, before he loses his home (well, that could make things bad, but we have to hope)!  And I have promised to get myself out of this funk and join the world again...and get some things done to my home that I have only been talking about!  And it starts with making myself a filet fondue tonight, which was always our tradition on NY Eve!

    Jewlieee
I think 2009 was rough for almost everyone. I'm trying to think back though, on some good stuff that happened.

I totally agree.  2009 was horrible for us here.  I lost 2 dogs this year, Buster (my heart dog) and Lady; my mom had a near fatal heart attack, was in a coma for two weeks, and in the hospital for a month, and needed a double bypass AND is STill recovering, and DH has been having health issues, and I still don't have a full time teaching position.  I did get Finn this year, so that is a huge plus.  I am so thankful to have him in my life as he has helped the grieving over Buster so much easier.

I really hope 2010 is 10,000 times better.  We deserve it, everyone does.  I hope everyone has a great time tonight.  Be safe if you are going out!

     hmm 2009

work has been bumpy, still is, but I still have a job YAY. This year seemed easy for one reason - no more black belt training. 2008 was devoted entirly (it seemed like it) to my training. I went on the most spectacular vacation ( paris, rome & venice) i feel incredibly lucky to have gone & insanely lucky that I have a good man that'll sell his truck so we can go!

I also got a car ( after 2 years of no car) that I LOVE! ( its a 'dog wagon';), I think this year I had better relationships with everyone - family, friends. I got donkeys!! thats pretty stinking cool, I love them to pieces. The really bad thing was loosing Akyra.

Curious to see what 2010 holds, all I know is that attitude means alot, someone said 'let gratitude be your attitude' I thought it was stupid, but then I tried it. It changed alot for me. Looking forward to donk training, and puppy training!!!

Every one have a safe & happy new years!

2009 - nothing really spectacularly wonderful happened, but nothing really crappy happened either and that in itself is something to be thankful for I suppose. I still hate to cook but I've learned not to feel guilty about saying *make a sandwich* or *open a can of chili*. Hopefully neither Costco or Schwan's will go out of business in 2010. I joined Curves and have a lot more energy than I did six months ago and I think it even improved my memory ... I haven't missed a call lately because I forgot where I left the phone. Here's to a much better 2010 for everyone who had a not-so-good 2009.

Well my hair appt went well and I look good enough for a New Year's Eve night out. Oh well, Sassy gave my hair smooches when I got home. She's totally lab when it comes to any new or foreign smells and isn't satisfied until she's completely sniffed you over. She also likes to go sniff all around my car whenever I get home.

I just made some cappucino chocolate chip muffins. It was a recipe that was in the paper yesterday that I thought I'd try out. I should've waited until tomorrow when DH was home. They're amazingly good and I have the whole night to get thru and not eat them all.

I hope those of you that are going out and about tonight stay safe.

Got my first ticket ever tonight. Over freaking expired tags. Except their not expired!!

    Is this year over yet?!!!

    • Gold Top Dog

Well since I have become a light weight in my older age, lol, I most likely will be asleep when everyone is ringing in 2010.

Happy New Year to all of you, my friends, here's to a healthy happy 2010!

    Party!!!

I actually think you have to count it as a good thing when you can laugh over positioning the plastic bag JUST right so only solid waste lands in it!  When you can laugh over your solution to the frozen black tank....bucket in the toilet with foam pipe insulator for comfort....Iook at some of the stuff we got through last winter and wonder how in the world I managed to laugh and make the best of it!

So, decided I'd take care of the laundry this afternoon.  Right across the parking lot is the car wash....excellent idea for those bored out of their skull waiting on dryers, or those driven to escape the screaming children.  Put the clothes in the dryer, then vacummed....THREE starts worth, even washed the windows, and then ran it through the car wash and STILL had 3 minutes to spare.  And then I went on kitchen strike and we went out for Mexican.  Amazingly they were NOT overly busy.  So I'm clean, fed and even managed half a beer!  And I'm still sort of moving this late!

To all of you, a very happy, healthy and prosperous New Year!
