    SUPER alert, looking at everything

She's a herder - it's what they DO.  Every leaf that falls, every breath of air ... every blade of grass that turns.

any idea on the actual breed? Looking at catahoula pup pics they look alot like her!

    heres a pic of a aussie/catahoula mix....

I don't really see catahoula JMO of course though. With her ears being semi- *** and her heard shape she reminds me of an australian cattle dog x aussie mix. ACDs can have that blue coloring as well. I definitely could be wrong, but thats what I see Smile

     I'm gonna say a blue heeler x.

I'm thinking Cattle Dog x Aussie mix perhaps.  With that tail, there's something besides Aussie in there - they usually have full tails when they have tails.  Could we have a side view and a weight?

so hopefully I have a jump on the socialization thing lol, in the 4 days i've had her, she's met 7 dogs. :)

she barked a bit at the last two but soon warmed up to them.  Last night I taught her to go on the treadmill. first i tried to get her to try it by herself, but she wasn't having any of it. So I had Bella 'show' her how to do it. without even asking her she jumped right onto the treadmill and was walking on it by herself ( I was using her food as a lure - this is the first time I introduced using a reward). In fact when i told her we were done she jumped off, then jumped right back on. so we did some more.

She's rambunctious when she wakes up from a nap - typical puppy I believe. She's good about going potty outside, we've only had a few accidents inside.  She HATED the steam cleaner at first ( and i was thinking 'oh lord is this gonna be a problem??';),but then she settled down and quit barking. She even went to sleep on the couch one time when I was using it. Bella plays with her constantly, which i like cuz its almost like a babysitter LOL.  As long as I hear/see them playing I know she's not getting into too much trouble. She walks pretty good on the leash, yesterday we went out for a walk with Bella, to show her how to 'walk'.

this morning I took her and Amber on the rollerblades, I chose amber cuz she's old/short/slow. LOL. Of course Amber pooped out after awhile, so I took Zoey by herself, she seemed to enjoy it, although i have to keep a close eye on her since like a puppy that she is, she darts all over the place, so i have to make sure I dont run her over.

After I get some of the energy down, she's a doll. She doesn't try to chew on you any more and listens well.  so here's more pics!! So far I've made alot of rules for the humans around her - I dont play tug with her, no playing rough with humans - my BF's boyfriend kept playing rough & encouraged her to get crazy and bite. thats a no no for me, no mouths on people also.

So far she's excellent with the cats, she's figured out which ones are ok to approach and which ones are the 'grouchy' cats. I love that she likes to follow me around.

I have yet to weigh her.

sounds like the aussie/ACD mixes are pretty crazy, and smart. I did some research and they're called 'texas heelers'

Ex-BFs heeler x, Dingo was on a seek and destroy mission his first two years. There were plenty of "hes gotta go" moments, but by age 4 he was the best dog ever. Now at age 10, hes still great! He is extremely smart also, so watch out. These dogs are dynamite. Hes the reason I got Tootsie, I wanted a herding breed, but in a smaller package.

     Wow, what a gorgeous face!

I love the sleepy dog pic!  I don't know what she is but I love that she looks like she's got a little bit of some type of "wild" dog in her.  Good luck for her!

Dunno but my guess is Aussie/husky.  She's tall like I think of huskies with a more slender face than I think of in cattle dogs.  Plus I've seen more Australian Shepherds with her coloring than I have cattle dogs.
