any tips for making my time away easier on pups?

I will be going on vacation to visit my sick mother and I'll be gone 10 days and 9 nights. My husband and son will remain at home with my  2 dogs. I have had Riley for 2 years now and KC for 3 weeks. When I leave he will have been here 5 weeks. I am the "mom" and do everything for these dogs. They dogs are doing well together and KC acts like Riley is his mom! Any tips on how to make my time away easier for the dogs? I am trying to write down my routine with them so that DH and son can stick to this as much as possible. Any help would be appreciated.

I would slowly start letting your husband do more things for the dogs that you usually do before you leave so that way they are getting use with your husband doing these things as well. That way they are not confused when he is doing it all and your not there. I would also leave something that has your smell on it that way they can snuggle with it and it gives them some comfort. Also if you have one of those toys that records your voice on it that would be a good thing to leave also for comfort.

Thank you, that helps a lot. I would like to leave the voice thing especially, do you know where I could get something like that. Also, what sort of thing with my sent, like a piece of clothes? Thanks again.

I don't know for sure where you would find the voice thing probably something like Petsmart, Petco, or just some pet shop. I do know that Drs. Foster & Smith have a talking treat ball, but maybe a petstore may have something else. Yup, a piece of clothing such as old shirt or a towel just some piece of clothing you don't mind if the dogs have it.
