    Risk from Feral Cats?

We're probably spending Thanksgiving at my dads and we'll be bringing Rory. He has a lot of car parts in the backyard (hes a mechanic and rebuilds stuff) and apparently a mom cat decided to have her kittens in my dad's backyard under something. The kittens are now about 3 months old and are still there, even though he has never fed them. He is planning on trapping them and having the pound come get them. But who knows if he will get around to that before Thanksgiving. Usually when we go to my dads, we let Rory run around the backyard (supervised because all the stuff) but now I am concerned because of the cats and their pee and poop that must be back there. Can she get anything from them that could be the in the grass/plants/dirt? Parasites? Worms?

Yes parasites are a big concern. I have a feral cat problem in my area and while the cats are fast, they are *just barely* faster than two of my dogs. Luckily, the 3rd dog, who I'm sure could catch one, is never focused enough when one of the cats starts running to actually keep up with it. A feral cat can do some serious damage to a smaller dog if provoked and cat bites are nasty! I'd keep your dog on a leash this time around.
