• Glenda magilacudy Posted : 4/25/2006 4:37:24 PM OK this is about my mothers Germ. Shep again. She brought him to the vet today for yearly shot. He has lost 3 lbs. since his last visit. The vet says he is testing him for a common pancrease disease only found in Sheps. He said if Cyrano is found with this disease treatment is $80/week or too buy dog pancrease and grind it and feed it to him raw. Have you ever heard of this? Also Should this not be covered under a health guarantee by the breeder? I told you he is just over 2 years old. I don't know anything about agreements or what is involved in a health guar. • glenmar Posted : 4/25/2006 4:45:27 PM This is not something I'm familar with, but remember, I'm not a breeder.  I would think that the FIRST thing to check would be for parasites.  Coxcidia (sp) is a common parasite responsible for weight loss. HOWEVER, I think the vet might just be jumping the gun and I'd want a fecal done FIRST.
