    Google Earth?

I play on a game site and my ex used to as well,he moved from Florida well anyway I was in a game and his name came into the room I was in and said Hi and asked how I was  well then said he was gonna come to Florida and visit his sister and also said he thought about coming over to say hi and then said oh u got a pretty good size house I was like WHAT? So he says yea I seen it on satellite so I say I don't live there anymore and he says well it had a red car there, mind you my car is red, I'm sitting there thinking omg why would he look me up so I tell him well gotta go and left the game. Now I remember someone talking about google earth and also remember the doctor in the ER on that site anyone know how to work it?

I downloaded it but I couldn't see a car in my driveway  I could barely see the house and I even zoomed in Anyone know anything about it? Freaked out over here Also don't like this big brother crap creepy stuff

yeah, it's pretty creepy! it really depends. the pictures get updated from time to time, so sometimes you might see a certain car, and sometimes you wont. also, i have noticed that picture quality varies... dont know why....

but for this person to find your house, on google earth they would actually have to know where you live... google earth is really isnt THAT much more than just a map....

for what it's worth, i find it really convenient, because you can send people locations, and they can visit it in google earth and find out how to get there and even print out a map of the area.... i also use it sometimes for certain types of site analysis for bigger projects....

I looked up my mom and dad's house about a year ago and the picture had my old car in it (literally from 1999).  About a month ago a looked it up again and it was updated (no car).  It's not real time or anything, but I don't know how often the pictures get updated.

It does creep me out personally, but I don't think there is much we can do about it.

the pics on google earth are aerial photos that are "rubber-sheeted" to fit together. where i work, we get the same photos of our state to use for surveying and engineering purposes. the differences in quality depend on what scale or resolution the municipality paid to have shot.

it is amazing the amount of information that is freely available on the internet. to do our work, we have to research property and get deeds and plats. we used to have to always go to the register of deeds ofice to get the data. now, most of it is available online to anyone who cares to look. most of the newer plats and deeds are also available to print or download from the county's web site. i bet if you looked up your county, you could find something similar. some places are very user friendly and some arent.

here is our county's parcel search map... http://www.gcgis.org/webmappub/

you can turn on the aerial photo if it isnt already.

and here is what we use to find deeds and plats... http://rod.greenvillecounty.org/RealEstate/SearchEntry.aspx

you really have to use both sites together to get all the info we need.

I googled my own house and I figured the picture was taken after August of '06 because the car we got then is in the driveway, but it was before November of '07 because the lawn is dead and I had it re-done and sprinklers put in that November.
