    Playtime

Here "the girls" wait their turn for their ball to be thrown. Usually they lie down while waiting but I thought I'd have them stand for a change.

3girls you asked how I trained them to wait their turn. It was very easy.

I started this before we got Kya, the third dog. She just fell in place with it all.

I like to use a chuck it when we play and each dog has her own ball. To start I put the dogs in a down stay and had one dog drop her ball. I would throw that ball then release her to go get it all the while the second dog is still in a down stay.

When she would come back I asked her to go back into the down stay and the other dog to drop her ball and I tossed the second dogs ball, while the first dog was in a down stay. At first I had them next to me in a down stay then I let them go in front of me when they came back with the ball and that's how the line started to form.

Now they retrieve the balls so fast and get back in line that I am throwing balls non stop. People often ask how I trained them to do it and I usually say they did it themselves. I really only asked them to wait their turn and they did the rest.
