"I gotta watch over my brother" Bevolasvegas

Shooter you are such a good brother.  Take care of Bevo for us! 

Oh, my!   How cute is THAT?!  So precious!  Even though Bevo only tolerates Shooter, I bet he appreciates the love coming his way from his tiny brother. 

Our dog's eyes sometimes looked like that when he was sleeping - it was always a bit eery to see them that way!

My boys are very funny.  Bevo only agrees to play with Shooter on his own terms.  Shooter, otoh, would be perfectly content to be with Bev all of the time.  When Bev has had to stay at the surgeon's or at the neurologist's overnight, Shooter searched for him until he returned.  Last night, when I arrived home, with Bev still drunk, Shooter was soooo excited to see him.  Shooter realized that Bev wasn't feeling great, so he took advantage of Bev's drunken state, to get to snuggle up & protect his buddy.  It was very sweet.

Bev has slept with his eyes open since he was a puppy.  Now, it's only creepy when we are napping on the couch, & Bev starts dreaming.  Even though, I know that Bev won't hurt me, there is something a little scary about a growling dobe sleeping, face to face, with you on the couch!

Wow I have never seen a dog sleep with its eyes open, I know I do! Cute picture tho.

Shooter -- trust me ... Bevo likes you better than you think or he wouldn't even TOLERATE you!!  Dobes are like that.

 I had a friend who did rabbit rescue AND dobe rescue -- she had a big huge dobe, named "Magnum" who "took care of" EVER-bunny!!  He didn't really pal around with them but he took his watch-the-bunny status VERY seriously.

At one time she had a little bunny (a little dwarf lop) named "Wildflower" -- and Wildflower LIVED to annoy the crap out of Magnum.  One day Magnum came to get Suzie away from the computer with a "follow me Mom" look so she did.  He led her into the kitchen and there, curled up in Magnum's bowl ASLEEP was ... Wildflower.

Magnum just stood back and *sighed* deeply.  Suzie kicked the bowl very lightly with her foot and addressed Wildflower and said "Excuse me Young Lady -- just WHO do you think you are ... LUNCH????"

It always cracked me up that he was so protective of those rabbits.  any and all of them. 

Callie, that is very much like Bev & Shooter's relationship.  Bev tolerates Shooter, but when the time comes, Bev looks out for his little buddy.
