    Twilight Series......

I just started reading the Twilight series--actually I'm halfway through New Moon.  I've got DH into it too--lol.  I was curious if anyone else has been reading it and what you think....

I've read the first 2....I LOVED the first one....the 2nd one was so-so, and I got so pissed off that I didn't WANT to read the other one....LOL

I've read the whole series 3 times *blush* I like them and I am stoked for the movie to come out although I know it's going to be a lot different from the book....and BUMMER about midnight sun being indefintely delayed...

I tried to read the first book but I had to quit. The way it was written just annoyed me. I was also irked at the fact that the main girl is the just prettiest girl in school and asked out/hit on by every guy she meets and all the guys just want to take her to the dance. But then I dont usualy get into popular books and things. I have never read Harry Potter books and I guess I will never read Twilight ones either. :P

My 9-year-old daughter has read the first one, and we're waiting for the second one from the library.  She absolutely loved it.  She saw the trailers for the movie and was disappointed with how the main vampire was portrayed.  I guess he's a blonde in the book and doesn't fly like he appears to do in the trailer.

I think he is blonde in the book - I can't remember.

But he doesn't 'fly' vampires apparently 'run' so fast they might as well fly, but they never leave the ground. I was irked by that too.

I can't read a book AND watch the movie thou - I nit-pick the entire thing and don't enjoy it.

not read them tho I typically like that sort of thing. But being that I read Anita Blake books these will likely be a bit erm....tame for me HAHA

Interestingly...Sam's Club has a "VIP experience for this movie's premiere for NINE THOUSAND DOLLARS!! Tickets to the red carpet deal, meeting the stars, hotel, airfare, dinner, etc. I thought it was random until I realized how rabid some of the fans are. It's for 4 peeps so I guess dividing it up....LOL...

Everyone at work keeps raving over the series. I keep saying it doesn't seem like my type of book...i have no interest in harry potter and i tried to read lord of the rings and didn't like it. But, everyoone keeps saying, "No,it's different! You have to read it!" I've gotten the first one, but don't really have time to read it right now...maybe over christmas break.

I've read them all.  I didn't want to but a friend kept insisting and I did enjoy them.  They were a little heavy on the romantic fixation and light on the scary stuff (I prefer scary).

Yeah, I have gotten a bit tired of reading about how perfect Edward is.  I'm 3/4s of the way threw the second book and have come to the conclusion that she should end up with Jacob, even though I'm sure that won't happen.......

Haha, well, actually, Edward (the main guy) has bronze-colored hair. His "sister" and "brother" are blondes, though. Read and bought all the books, even though I have no liking whatsoever for them... I liked Twilight at first, and then thought about it, and figured it was kinda stupid :P

I read them all! I'm so hooked! I really think that the last book is the best... you really kinda have to read all of them :) No spoilers from me tho!

I noticed my students are into the series. I was wondering why I kept seeing the same few books over and over until I finally asked about it, then they let me in on the secret. I must say, this is a great improvement from the racy urban novels that were going around last year, which is definitely inappropriate for school setting.
