    dog proofing cars

Now that i have a nice car, i want to know how to dog proof it! To start off i was thinking about trying one of these...do you think the foster and smith one is worth the extra money? Any other ideas are very greatly appreciated.

Foster & Smith has really good quality stuff, but I don't know if their cover would really be all that much better than the other one.  I think I'd definitely want to have a second one though, just to have something  to toss on  the seat when the other one has to be washed.

I have the one from Pet Edge.  I doesn't hold in place very well.  It constantly slips down, & leaves the seat exposed.

The first one looks a lot sturdier and like it would hold up better, but that is a really big price difference. How handy are you - could you make one yourself? The general concept looks fairly simple.

I think have the Pet Edge one in a Mercury Sable, but mine is black.  For the price, I love it!  I don't have any problems with it sliding.  I have it bungeed into the three child seat anchors behind the seat.  It goes all the way up the back seat.  I use the front seat head rest covers but also have additional bungees that wrap around the head rests.  I still do get hair underneath it, but the seat cover keeps all the dirt and other crap off the seat.  I also like it b/c you can zip off part of it without having to take the entire thing out.  Sometimes my sister rides places with us and even if a dog is not coming along it would still be a pain to take the whole thing off.

Never knew something like that existed!  How neat!!  My dogs were covered in dirt and slobber after the dog park today, something like that would've have been nice. But than, I have kids and it doesn't look like that could be used when kids and dogs are sharing the backseat.
