    Parentstuff-Eli, Eli, Eli....*sigh*

My dear son got a note in his folder that we owe the school some money for lunch. WHAT?

He brings his lunch, everyday...so I am sitting here thinking...when did he not have lunch? HIs lunchbox is empty everyday lol.

You know what he did? I gave him a quarter to buy cotton candy with AFTER SCHOOL....so he used that to buy lunch instead because he wanted to try it!! OMG! .25
    does not buy lunch hahah

I remember him saying somthing about buying lunch but he really just talks sometimes so I just figured he meant on some alternate reality he buys lunch or he wants to buy lunch someday...

So now we're deadbeat parents...sponging off the school!

Lemme go deposit that $1.50 now...these days one shouldn't be in debt!

I just asked him if he bought lunch with his quarter and he says yes....I asked what he got and he says "pizza...and some corn"...that piggy ate his packed lunch TOO! oh man I am laughing my heinie clean
     off....

Gina, it's obvious that you are going to have to fix Eli a bigger lunch!Stick out tongue

Agreed!  A bigger lunch is definitely in order.  And not to worry ... I remember my mom telling me that when I was about three I went up to the ice cream truck (sans money) and told the driver to "put it on the cuff."  He thought that was so cute he gave me a free ice cream every day for a couple of weeks before my mom caught on.

    Oh that's so funny!!!

If you're a deadbeat parent, I don't know what I am...my kids do eat at school, and their lunch accounts are frequently overdrawn, I just can't keep up with it. They eat breakfast there some days too, and other days they don't, and they send home envelopes when money is due...sometimes the envelopes make it home, but more often not. I just send in money when I get a call...."your child owes $3.50...and recently, "Um, your daughter owes $17".....Indifferent I don't even sweat it anymore, we're always current by the end of the year, and I get the feeling we're far from the only ones that have trouble keeping up....

lol, sounds like you got yourself a growing boy!!!! thanks for the chuckle!

Geez Gina - feed your kid for goodness sake!  LOL

I am sure you are not the only ones!  I can see his point of view - I wasn't allowed to buy lunch either and always wanted to get the pizza Big Smile  You may have to start packing a turkey leg for him everyday...that MIGHT fill him up!

    • Gold Top Dog

lmbo @ turkey leg! His sister would steal it! haha!

I settled up this morning...the cafeteria lady was laffin at me when I told her the story too lol.

Believe me, Gina, I'm sure the school doesn't think you're a deadbeat parent.  Someone always seems to be either losing their money or forgetting their lunch box at home where I work.  Things happen.  At least some other kid didn't take Eli's lunch money.

I could totally see that happening lol. He is a BIG, strong kid but he does not get into issues with people/kids...except his sister. If SHE tried to take his money she'd end up in the ER *cackle*!

But other kids? He is just kinda passive. I am grateful...big as he is I'd worry if he also had a somewhat aggro streak.

Oh, that is too silly. I bet it was exciting for him to buy lunch, though. Wow, I get to pick ANY of this stuff? For one quarter? Score!
