Google....a lot of Native American sites have animal sounds on them....Coyote's are basicly everywhere now, if you furture north-west, I'd be more worried about the big cats(they dont howl, but they scream, and it's freaky)

I thought they just yipped, didnt know they howled too. Panthers can let out a freaky scream. There might be some big cat rescue near you missing one of their panthers.

    Crystal River, FL?

Coyotes are ALL over FL. There is possibly one that lives around my neighborhood (I've seen him, and he looks too big - more of a shepherd mix) but we've got people swearing he's a coyote.....

They are  highly adaptable creatures - which is why we're seeing more and more of them. Now is a good time to keep dogs and cats the house........

    ETA: here are their sounds.

Could be a CoyDog(coyote-dog mix)....its becoming more common now that coyotes are living in the streets with dogs.

Yepp, my Grandpa lives in Melvin, FL(near Pensacola), he has a live-trap camra set up on his hunting land(just to see whats they're when hurting seasons out) and he has pictures of a pack of coyotes sniffing around....not to mention the wild hogs, turkeys, deer, and coons.

I found a sounds of a coyote and I do believe that is what I heard last night, DH said he didn't hear anything and Daisy and Copper the two that bark didn't but when whatever I heard made that sound twice Lucky was the only one to come run into the room I was in. I was so freaked out I hardly got an sleep I sure hope there isn't one near me, I keep my dogs in lol they got their own room well they share it with the computer lmao, so they are safe so are the cats. That sound was sooo scary lol I couldn't see anything because it's really dark in the backyard and I wasn't going out there, also when I told my father about the sound he said maybe it was an Owl I said well if it was it should never make that sound again lol
