Mindless Chatter - Thurs

Ho hum....I'm tired.  I need to get a new matress.  STBX took his bed so I got my old one out of storage, but the matress is well, well, beyond replacement age.  But I have an already long list of things I want to get for the apartment that I keep putting it off.

I'm worried, I didn't get my goals done this year at work.  The project I was working on took more time than anyone expected it to and between that and actual orders very little else got done.  Everyone else is saying the same thing, but still.

*Sigh* is it Friday yet?  I wanna go home.

I'm dancing up and down right now because dear, beloved BF clogged the toilet last night by using too much paper (we've even talked about this! sigh) and we were too stupid to have a plunger in the house. I really have to pee, but I'm hoping it will just kind of solve itself soon and I won't have to go down and use the building's public bathroom (right by the common room where they bring ALL the prospective residents). That would be a fun explanation! BF's going out to get a plunger today, and if that doesn't work we'll call maintenance.

I'm nervous because I have a(nother) interview today - I just got a new job, but it's only semester-long and so will be ending in December or January. The job that I'm interviewing for today will be a longer-term position, probably a year or so. It's a somewhat informal interview - they don't have an official job listing yet, I was just referred to them by another professor - but I'm still nervous!

I still am not "official" with the job I just started - waiting for paperwork to go through, I guess, but they still want me to come in several times a week. Which would be fine, except it's 40 minutes away, I don't have parking or an ID card to even get in the office by myself, no computer access, etc. Not to mention no official paycheck for a while. Very frustrating. Oh well... hopefully it will work out soon.

I am working from home today and Teddi is in RARE form. She will not be still. She keeps doing the Teddianapolis. I put her outside to run it off and I could hear her thundering around the yard. She also went for a swim in her pool. She likes to play hippo. I now have a soggy doggy at my feet and she just passed gas  She may need to go back outside really soon PU!

My working from home is not going well today. I can not access the UM system from home. I get to the login and I sign in, put in my password, my token code and NOTHING!! So I had to install another AWFUL system just to get the data I need. This really sucks! The helpdesk at work can not help me because I am on a Mac and have to access via Firefox. The only system the "support" is Safari, but the system does not work on version 3 and I could not get anything "older" when I got my new computer. My co workers at work do not have any problems just me. It sucks. I don't understand why they won't support Firefox, it is a MUCH better browser. 

I'm working on a new web site for fun.  I've noticed many GSD people have a "kennel" even though they don't breed dogs, so I thought it would be fun to have a name and site for my dogs.  Also tons of people ask me about where to get a GSD, where to train, etc so I'll eventually put in recommendations for local breeders and trainers. What do you think?

Ann when B was younger I used to either crate him for a bit or baby gate him in hte room with me so i could work without constant interruption - doesn't help with the gas though LOL

ahhhhhhhh my in-laws are gone - very difficult so feeling lots of relief - Bugsy is too!

Good to know.  It's only 248KB and 36KB, but I'll look into it.

I started with a CSS template and overhauled it quite a bit.  I'm not at all artistic, so I'm not good with color schemes, catchy banner images, etc.  I prefer to have something basic to start with and then I can tweak from there.  It came with a stock photo of a cheetah's face up close so I used that idea for Kenya's eyes and then changed the styles as I wanted.  I wanted the color scheme to include bright green.

When I'm done I run it through a validator to make sure it's up to standard (that's what the little button at the very bottom is for).

i am not good with color schemes or creating graphics. i setup up a fairly simple web site for my work using a cms (joomla) so people who arent familiar with html(or other web programming lang.) could add content.  i pretty much did the same as you... started with a template and tweaked it to fit what i wanted. the end color scheme is not the one i had originally picked. my boss didnt like it, but i dont really like the plainness of the site now. i wish i was better at making graphics and whatnot though.

since then, i have messed around some with drupal. it seems a bit easier and nicer looking than joomla.

I LOVE Nucleus for blogging b/c they have a great knowledge base and support forum.  I've asked some really specific questions and guys will paste the code I need within hours.

I am hungry.  I keep eating everything in sight.  I didn't bring enough snackage to work and I still have 2 1/2 hours on the clock and my stomach is growling something fierce.

We have company coming over tomorrow right after work and the house is a mess - I mean a mess.  So I'll be spending the night (after an hour walk with Ari of course!) cleaning up so it's at least presentable.  I hate cleaning I wish I could afford a maid...seriously. 

I should be working, my to do list only grows it seems.  But I really don't want to, sigh....
 

 It's RAINING! WTH!?  Since Maze hates the rain, we can't go on the regular walks so she's ripping around the house with a basketball in her mouth.  Crap.. She just grabbed the rubber rat. *sigh* And the squeaking starts..

Well since I've got stormy weather, I'm putting off my running around for another day. It wasn't to important so it won't hurt anything. 

I found out last night that I'm done paying my dad off from a large bill he paid for me at the beggining of the year! I love not owing him money. So now that's an extra 100$ a month in my pocket because my roommate is still paying me from that bill..
