So, last night was quite eventful for Harry.
It started when BF and I were eating dinner. I made spaghetti, and had the sauce in the pan on the stove, as usual. Burner had been off for probably 10 minutes, thank goodness. Because, Mr. Sneaky decided that he'd just help himself to some spaghetti sauce!!! He has never done anything like this before! I heard a noise coming from the kitchen, at first thought he was drinking from his water bowl, but looked over and nope, he's not at his water bowl. So I walk into the kitchen and there he is....lapping up spaghetti sauce directly from the pan! Thankfully he didn't get much. So, the lesson is...move the pan to the rear burner and keep an eagle eye on the pupper while we eat from now on. If we have to leave anything on the stove, he will no longer be allowed in the kitchen.
Then, I was hanging a picture frame in the hallway. I have one of those little laser level thingies that sticks to the wall. It fell off the wall while I was marking the hanger spots, and the battery cover came off. This part still dumbfounds me...Harry was watching me hang the picture, and after I picked up the level and battery cover, I heard him moving something plastic-sounding around in his mouth. I tell him to drop it, and what comes out of his mouth? A thumbtack!!!! There was a thumbtack inside the battery compartment of the level! How the heck did it get in there??? Well, I checked his mouth out real well, and it appeared he didn't poke himself, thank goodness.
On a more positive note, we took down Harry's crate last night. He hasn't been in it in months. He's been reliably left out while we are gone for quite some time now, and he really started disliking his crate once I started bringing him to work with me and he didn't have to be in it very much. So, yay, progress in one area!!
Whew! Let's all hope for a less eventful evening tonight.
