VISIT TO EYE DOCTOR TODAY :(

MY YOUNGEST SON  TOOK ME TO THE EYE DOCTOR TODAY.   WERE THERE 2 1/2 HOURS.   I KNEW MY VISION IN LEFT EYE WAS WORSE AND IT WAS.   IN FACT SO BAD HE SAD I AM LEGALLY BLIND IN LEFT EYE.   I CAN SEE, JUST NOT CLEAR AT ALL OR ANY DISTANCE AT ALL.

I HAD A CHoICE OF GETING THE INJECTION RIGHT INTO My EYEBALL OR JUST UNDER IT.   THE ONE JUST UNDER IS NOT AS RISKY, BUT SOMETIMES DOESN'T WORK WELL.   THE ONE RIGHT INTO THE EYEBALL RUNS THE RISK FO INFECTION, MAKING CATARACTS MUCH WORSE, CAUSING GLAUCOMA, AND I FORGET THE OTHER THING,   I OPTED TO TRY THE UNDER THE EYE FIRST.   THY DEADENED MY EYE AND THEN RAN THE NEEDLE IN UNDER THE EYEBALL FOR THE STEROID INJECTION.   I GO BACK OCT 28 TO SEE IF THE SWELLING HAS GONE DOWN ANY AND IF THERE IS LESS PRESSURE.   HE HOPES MT VISION WILL IMPROVE SOME WITH LESS SWELLING AND PRESSURE.   CATARATS CAN NOT BE REMOVED UNTIL SWELLING HAS GONE DOWN

Good lordy, woman! I hope it gets better so you can take care of the situation.

On a side note about needles in eyes...my grandpa has had injects in his eyes may times for macular degeneration, which he's had since he was 50. He's now 91. Even now, after all those times, he'll still impressed at how you don't feel the shot.

NO, I DID NOT FEEL IT AT ALL, BUT I SAW THE NEEDLE COMING AT MY EYE!  IN CASE YOU DIDN'T KNOW, MY EYE PROBLEM IS CAUSED BY DIABETES AND CATARACTS BOTH DIAGNOSED IN JUNE.

    Sandra,

You have just had a rough patch lately haven't you!

When it comes to my eyes I do not mess around. I try like heck to not go near doctors, but any issue with my eyes and I am there. I have a family history of detached retinas, and cataracts, so I have all that to look forward to also. There is no way I could watch a needle come at my eye. I don't know how you did it. I have a hard enough time with the glaucoma test (air puff).

    Thinking of you!

Hope the shot helps.  The thought of losing your sight is very scary.  I have been dealing with retinal tears the last few years.  I guess we should be grateful for the medical advances in treating eye problems, my Granddad went blind at the age of 30 due to undiagnosed glaucoma.

When I go to the eye specialists I hear others talking about getting the shots in their eyes and I just shudder.  I'm sending you healing vibes and really do wish you the best possible outcome.

TWO OF THE LADIES IN MY SMALL UNITED METHODIST WOMEN'S GROUP GETS INJECTIONS IN YHEIR EYES. ONE BECAUSE OF DIABETES, THE BECAUSE OF MACULAR DEGENERATION.    THEY HAD TOLD ME IT WAS NOT SO BAD AND I FIGURED IF  THEY COULD DO IT, SO COULD I.
