A different twist on school fundraisers.

A different twist on school fundraisers.

The 5th grader next door  came around collecting for the Heart Assoc today as a school fundraiser... Yes, I gladly gave no matter where the money mostly went.  The principle seemed wonderful as opposed to selling candy or doughnuts.

My DD did that also in elementary school except hers tied it into heart health and had a "jump-a-thon" to raise money.  You offered to pay per jump and they jumped rope for 30 minutes!  Pretty cool.

Ps - The kid will be back....This was one of many for my DD!

I absolutely LOVE when they do the cookie dough fundraisers...but you know how I am about my junk food LOL.

My gymnastics team did cookie dough in high school.  We were not allowed to, but the school would not get us our supplies so we did it anyway.  I actually raised so much for my competition leotard that it was paid for and I got cash back, lol!

The middle school here does a "jump-rope for heart" for the AHA.  I thought it was a cool idea.

Of course, there are still other fundraisers.  Now that my son is out of school, I hide when the doorbell rings.  Now if only the girl at my office w/ 2 kids wouldn't bring their stuff in...

LOL well if it helps...my kiddos will never be doing the door to door thing. So there's two less LOL.

The elementary schools here do wrapping paper and high end chocolate/peanut brittle at this time of the year.  As much as I really didn't want paper or candy, I ordered some because I remember what a PITA it was when my kids were selling stuff.  When do the Girl Scouts  start taking cookie orders??   Now there's something I can stock up on.  Big Smile

Shhhh, don't say anything but I just bought the most awesome tin of chocolate covered popcorn and pretzels from the Boy Scouts.  I got it for DH for xmas since it was really expensive, but something tells me it won't make it home from the office!

The fundraiser I looked through for our school was mostly wrapping paper and other items like that.

Personally, I miss my old middle school fundraiser selling candy bars made by whoever makes Caramello. The caramel bars were always bought first, and even when I see them now, I still buy out the caramel bar stock.
