anyone want to do work freelance? willing to trade jobs! (jm)

    seriously.

i mean i love my job and i'm glad i'm getting enough freelance work in to pay the bills, since my job hunting wasnt very successful.

but come on..... i'm freaking tired!!!! i havent had a single day off in at LEAST a month!!!! the first thing i do when i get up is open my laptop and check my mail. i mean the VERY FIRST THING. before going to the bathroom, or brushing my teeth or, well anything!!!

i've been regularily working until 6-7 am. i'm exhausted. i havent had so much red bull since college!!!

    i. need. some. rest.

    shoot me.....................!

No, I don't want to trade jobs based on your description!  Mine is bad enough.

Take a day off, even if you insist you can't.  Do it for yourself.

ergh... i know... but the thing is, if i take a day off, i pay for it double the next day, and the thought of that alone means i cant relax at all.. hahahah

ok, maybe i'm weird... but i cant help it... Sad

You aren't weird and I totally understand the horror you can face after just one day off.  I am the same way but have had to force myself to take a day off  when I get too stressed out and exhausted.  The hard part for me is when I do take a day off I have to constantly remind myself to QUIT THINKING ABOUT WORK!!  As I've gotten older and seen some of my friends and family have serious health problems I see the value in just doing something for myself.  That can mean anything from shopping to volunteering (because that makes me feel good).  Rarely do you hear an old person say "Gee,  I wish I had spent more time at work".

Hope things ease up for you soon.

i know what you mean. i think i am just not cut out for freelance work. i guess a lotta people would kill to have the kind of flexibilty i have, but i just do better in an office environment. work my share, then when i come home i am free to relax!!

oh well. i'm sure this wont be forever. sure beats having nothing to do all day... lol

Hmm, I don't think you'd want mine.  The pay sucks ($0) and it's 15 hours on call overnight, you can be called on a moments notice and in 30 minutes must be at an inner city ER ready to be compassionate, caring and supportive to crime victims in crisis.  Today it meant 4 1/2 hours standing in a tiny cramped ER cubicle trying to stay out of way of staff, listen attentively and do safety planning with someone who hadn't slept in 24+ hours, was traumatized and had medication complications.  Then you send them off and cross your fingers.

Wow, that sounds like my morning too! I don't do freelance, but I have 3 jobs currently, and the first thing I do is check my email for promotion work. I work my butt off every single day and am exhausted, but what can I say, I looooove money!

I also live on energy drinks, but I prefer Monsters ;)

haha, i heard of monsters! if they had them here i'd drink em! lol...

everyone always gives me talks about how red bull is bad for you... i know. but i'm sorry, those are the same people who cannot function without at LEAST 2-3 cups of coffee a day. i do well without red bull when i get enough sleep. but when i'm tired, coffee's no good. it gives me stomac aches and makes me sleepy. kinda counter productive...

BCMixs, that does sound like a tough job!! i do love my job, dont get me wrong... it's just that ALL the responsibilty is on me, and i dont have regular office hours to help me cope. i sleep 6am-2pm these days and i hate it..

last night i was done at 4am, but i couldnt sleep and ended up sleeping at 10 am!!!!! rahh!! but that's for another thread. i need to get my sleep patterns back to normal!!
