     I has got a new name!  Mom gived it too me yestaday.  Der's a bit ov a storey ta go wif it. 

    Sea, yestaday wuz sammun day.  On sammun day we done git no chikkin.  We gits sammun an sum ris... riz... liddle wite softy fings.  An mom givs it to us worm... wurm... awmost hot, an its sooooooo gud! 

    Soooo ennywayz mom makeded ar sammun and den she tode us ta sit an wate an we did.  Den she putz ar bows down on da foor an we wates.  Den she sez, OK, an we getz to eet.  So wen she sez OK she tunned rownd an lukked in da cubberd fer sumfin elz.  I wen ta see wut an she tode me ta go bak an eet, but I wuz awreddy dun!  So dats wen she gabe me my new name.  Wanna no wat it iz?

    Anne, I just noticed one of the quotes in your signature is by Chief Dan George.  When I was little, I thought he was my grandpa.  Just because my mom was native and I never met her father, he passed before I was born.  I just knew he was some native man.  It wasn't until much later that I learned anything about my culture.
