    I can't believe this!

The training facility I take both my dogs to for agility is closing at the end of the year!  The owner of the building sold it and the new owners want to keep the space that is used for dog training for their own storage!.Angry.  The person who runs the dog trraining school has been looking for a new place in the area but coudl not find one that wasn't ridiculously expensive so now has to shut down for good.  This facility has hundreds of dogs as clients and has the only competition-level agility training program in the area.  I don't know what I"m gong to do.  The nearest agility classes are now at least 45 minutes to an hour away, and with gas prices what they are it does not make sense.   A woman that I became friendly with in the class brought up the idea of carpooling, but there's no way my car will fit my dogs and her 2 golden retrievers.  Even then, with so many people now without agility classes, it will be impossible to find a class that isn't filled to the maximum.  We may have to settle for setting up an agility course in her back yard (I don't have a yard) and just practicing there.  I am so angry.  I've been taking my dogs there for 2 years now, twice a week, and working towards competition next year, and now it has to end.

Gosh Jen that Has to be unreal upsetting !!    Hang in and look for alternatives.... is ther no park near by ya'll can use?  Even a mall parking lot is normally well lit and cheap , they like the possible draw....  I am so not close to agility and it is because the nearest facilty is Pensacola, I am 45 minutes to the east.... Sorry I did not move to Alabama to travel to Florida  to play with my dogs.... Huge back yard etc  why would I blow that gas$$  ??

Surely another place will open up soo , OR maybe if the Hunderds of clients wrote and called the new owners might rethink everything??

    Im sorry hugs

I'm so sorry; what an awful disappointment!!!!! I hope you can work something out to continue the training; maybe the new owners would change their minds if they were offered more rent than is being payed now? Perhaps you and your fellow class members would be willing to pay the instructor more so she could offer to pay more rent?

It seems to be a done deal at this point unfortunately.  Rent prices in the area I live are ridiculous, and the amount of space they need to operate a facility like this to accomodate the number of clients would cost through the roof.  I think my class members and I have to put our heads together to come up with some sort of a solution.  One of my friends in the class has already begun competing and doesn't know what she's going to do to continue training other than her backyard.  This really sucks.
