Outfit question - advice please

'kay, so it's my senior year at hs and I want to leave with a bang, lol. So I've been trying to update my wardrobe some. Not that I dressed in crappy stuff before, but I used to just grab some clothes, brush my hair and go in the morning. I have a question about an outfit. I recently bought some almost knee high black boots w/ heels, and a friend lent me this cute red plaid skirt, think school uniform esque (but in a cute way, lol). Would wearing the boots with the red plaid skirt look trashy? The skirt is definitely long enough to meet the school dress code requirements. I just want to look cute and stylish, not like I'm trying too hard to get a date, lmao.

Based on your description, I think that would look great. I love boots of any kind and every year I say I'm going to buy a pair of knee high ones and never do. I think you'll look fantastic.

hohooooho... wow, great question! I think if people have seen you lots in "normal" clothes then do whatever you want! It'll probably be a nice change, just make sure you put on enough confidence that morning to pull it off all day. Tall boots, while not always the rage in trendy fashion are one of my staples, they're fantastic and supportive and feel great and help posture and confidence so I say go for it!

I say go for it as well, but I will forewarn you, if you wear something that you don't feel comfortable in, no matter how great you look, it will ruin your day. If you feel great, then wear it!

If you feel comfortable wearing it, go for it! I think that outfit sounds beautiful! In highschool I dressed kind of weird lol, I had thigh-high striped stockings (red and black stripes and purple and black stripes) and would wear those, with a shortish black skirt and knee high boots, lol I think I actually have a picture somewhere of me in it lol i will find it! But I didn't care if people looked at me funny, i think i looked nice :D

I went through highschool in jeans/shorts and tank tops. I not one for 'dressing up'....

Sounds like it would be cute! I'm sure if it meets your school's dress code, then it won't look trashy at all. You should post a picture of you in your snazzy new outfit! Smile

Agreed. So long as you meet dress code...why not?

I will say that in HS I was *lucky* (especially Jr/Sr year, when I drove myself) to make it to class, dressed, with a cup of coffee, LOL. I wasn't one to take fashion risks :)
