Obligatory first day of school post

All Mom/Dads/relatives/students feel free to add! My two started back today...well Eli's first year EVER. So I am now childless  Crying

He walked into his room..found his locker and his desk both by reading his name...then plunked down and said to me...BYE. Cool...dismissive...like.."oh, you're still here?" Crying I know...he's independant...he's like that...oh well. I am sure he'll think of me at least once today LOL. Like when he realizes in an hour that HE CANNOT GO HOME...bwah ha ha!

dh is home today and we're lunching with the kids...looking forward to it!

Pics you ask? Why of course I have some! Elias was not about picture tho so his aren't the best....notice Lily as always was happy to model!

I hope he doesn't do this to his teacher when SHE asks him to do something...

Or make this face when he finally stops acting a fool...

Guess who picked out this backpack? Hint? not Lily LOL.

    Miss Thang....

I'll add an update after lunch...

My friend's daughter started preschool last week. I asked my friend how her daughter's day went. She said I guess ok. She never even asked the kid anything about her first day of school. I would have been all over Samantha asking her how her day went, if she made any friends, what she did, etc. Right? I mean isnt that the normal parent's first day of their kids going to school? Especially for the first time.

I kinda let the kids guide me...I try not to give in and ask everything I want because they can get overwhelmed. Usually over dinner and afterwards it all comes out. Lily is very forthcoming and actually Elias is pretty quick to share new experiences with his folks...

I have a ton of curiosity about their first days...and I do ask them stuff but if they just wanna chill and tell me in their own time that's cool too. Smile

LOVE Lily's outfit.  Her backpack makes me giggle....I could never wear it, I'd feel like a fraud, but I'm sure she knows its right :o)

And you get to go eat lunch with them?  That's not fair, our parents were not allowed to do that.

yep you merely have to sign in the big book as a "Lunch Visitor" and they give you a sticker saying the same. Then you can go on in and eat with them, It's HILARIOUS...some of the stuff they talk about, esp the little ones. Then you have the random "who are you?" kids who want you to open their milk for them...so cute!

    Well that's cool.

Hope their day went well :o)

I hope their day went well.  They are so adorable...backpack included.  Was Cleo lonely today without Eli?

Smart-looking kids. Which one do you think will grow up to be President?

Gosh neither I hope! I'd like to think that lecture I gave about always telling the truth would stick! LOL. Lily is showing a lot of interest in this election tho...

Not yesterday no since DH and I both were home...today we'll see! She typically lays in the hallway all day long anyhow hehe.

They both had a great day...but Elias SOBBED miserably when it was time to come HOME of all things!

Yes. I honestly think he assumed he'd be LIVING with his teacher at school. I guess I should be looking up boarding schools. LOL. No way kiddo...you have to come home...every day...hehe.
