    Cairo

Well it's been a busy summer so I haven't been taking as many doggy pictures as I'd have liked...been focused on the rats for a while really, and with my new job working at a doggy daycare/camp, my free time is dwindling a bit.  I had a day off today, though, so I got Cairo outside for some pictures.  Just recently I've noticed the white whiskers on his nose are extending back and have reached the corner of his lips...which makes me very sad, not because I care what he looks like, but that it's a constant reminder that he won't stay young forever.  Didn't get any pictures of Nikki because she needs a bath pretty badly, but I would like to get some more before summer's end.

Feeding him treats to get rid of the "I hate you" expression only works so well...but at least it gets some temporarily goofy looks.

Of course the loathing comes back almost instantly the moment the tasty treat is gone.

Foaming at the nose as usual...but looking handsome (and hateful) otherwise.

That last one is him frog hunting at the edge of the fishpond.  The little nut has developed a strong obsession with the slimy buggers that he'll sit and stare at the pond forever.  Unfortunately he's succeeded in killing a few.  Pulled one out of the pool today and ushered it out of his reach before he caught wind of it, though.

And just to maintain status as the crazy rat lady, a few recent pictures of some of my little loves:

Cairo, you handsome, handsome, handsome boy.  You need to lighten up a bit.  The camera isn't that bad.  Although, I do understand you.  Grrrady has to put on his serious face when I pull the camera out.  There's no way I can get THE picture I want of him.   I love your ratties.  They are soooooo cute.  I'd love to have one but Grrrady would thank me for the snack.  Give Cairo some kisses from me, his number 2 fan.

You know what I've actually found helps when photographing Cairo is if I have someone else there with me with treats or trying to give him attention.  Cause if he looks at the other person, it's with his usual cute expressions and not the evil camera glare - and if I get behind the person and shoot pictures from behind them I think I could get decent shots.  Only problem is I rarely have anyone else to help me!  I wonder if you could try something like that with Grady?  I started Aspen's picture last night - got the little pappy button nose done Smile

Ah, good thought!  I'm the one who's taking the photos.  Maybe if DH tries I can get THE shot.  DH knows the look we're trying to get.  I am so excyed about Aspen's portrait!  I just know it's going to be awesome!!

Great pictures.  It is hard to take pictures of a black dog.
