Happy first birthday Meri!  I can't believe she is already one!  She looks like she had a great time!

Meri is so adorable.  Really where does the time go?  It seems like just yesterday that I was pregnant with Kali, and now here I am due tomorrow with Kali's little sister.  Sheesh!

Will is 15 months and I REALLY thought he would be walking now, because he did it once.... he took three or four steps from his toy box to me and I thought, "thats is, my baby is gone forever!"  But although he has done the same thing since, he is just not interested in using walking as his default method of transport, unless he is holding on to something for support.  Crawling is easier, faster, and you dont fall down!  He can also commando crawl very quickly with one object in each hand and one in his mouth.  Sigh.  I am not concerned.  I'm just happy that I got my baby for a bit longer..... but it can't be long now.

Chuffy - don't be concerned, be grateful.  It's so hard now that Riley walks, I mean runs everywhere.  We really can't even enjoy our front yard anymore (or least for a while) because the minute you let her hand go she runs for the street.  There is no way I can garden and have her out there with me any more.  I was (still am secretly) worried that Riley hasn't really started talking.  She will occasionally say Dada and Momma, down (I think she thinks that's Charlie's name), and dog.  She just babbles all the time like she is carrying on a conversation.  She totally  understands what I am saying since I will say, Riley come in your bedroom and she comes running etc.  I have asked the doctor a number of times and he says don't worry.  They all develop at different stages and at different times.  You are right for now William sees crawling as much more efficient than walking...

    Oh I am grateful!

I don't think you should be concerned either - maybe you should be grateful too!  One day she will be backchatting/asking questions incessantly/embarrassing you in public and you will think "WHY did I want her to talk so badly?!  Argh!!!"

When Riley wants something, do you encourage her to TELL you?  For example "What do you want Riley?  Do you want a drink?  Can you say "drink"?  "

William has said "tater", "chicken" and "sweetie" from me doing this.  He sometimes points to something and repeats a sound over and over and I feel awful that I have no idea what he is trying to say.

He will also say cat, fish, "ta" (thank you) and "purple".  He has also made a good attempt at Yellow, Blue and Dog.  I was especially surprsied when he said "yellow", very clear and made the Y sound properly which is hard to do Smile

Mostly he just says Tractor.  It's tractor tractor tractor all day long....

oh my, you are 40 weeks today? Tell her to come out already!!!!!! We want to see her! I'm sure you're getting sick of everyone asking you when she is coming already! I know at that point with Meri I was tired of hearing it. And she was 3 days late. It felt like a lifetime!

Oh, that;s funny. Yeah, my DH didn't walk until he was 16 or 18 months. And then it was only if he had an object in each hand. One time that object was the end of the roll of toilet paper and he walked ALL over the house before his mom realized it. Makes me chuckle!

My nephew was like that too.  He didn't think he could walk without someone holding onto his hands so one day we tricked him and put a toy car in each hand and away he went.

Yup, 40 weeks today.  I'm gonna ask my Dr will strip my membranes today.  Of to the appointment in a minute.

Oh and ya, I wouldn't worry about Riley not talking much.  It'll come.  Kali's vocabulary has just recently taken off, and she's still not really stringing words together.  I think as long as she's making sounds that sound like they could be made into words, you're golden.  I never said any singular words myself.  I started in full sentances...well poems.

I remember people going; "Still in one piece then?" and grinning, not knowing I was this close to committing murder... I might have developed a tic....

    Thanks so much!

I know, it does seem like I was just pregnant! Is Addison walking yet? I think Meri is just happy to crawl and I don't think she'll be walking anytime soon. She crawls so fast and can even get around with objects in both hands. She seems to be trying to stand up on her own though. Its fun to watch them learn these things, isn't it!

She crawls her butt off, and she stands on her own, going from one piece of furniture to the other. As far as walking goes, though...nope. She won't take a step.

She also only has one tooth. The rest refuse to come out.

My favorite thing she does...Tar brings his ball to her. She takes it and puts it back in his mouth. They do this forever. lol

lol, that is so freaking cute! I've caught Meri playing with Scout's lips. That only happened once though. I don't think Scout enjoyed that sort of attention!

I've caught Riley laying next to Charlie playing with his tags on his harness...I don't think he was having as much as her but he eats up attention any way he can get it.  I know she is dying to play catch with him and vice versa but he still gets a little too mouthy and excited so that will have to wait.
