Ugh Dogs have fleas

I usually buy flea meds from an online site but this time around I bought the meds from the vets office and now they have fleas they had no fleas before this I thought they did but it was the food that was making them itch Lucky was itching so much that I took her to the vet a few months ago and the vet said she has no fleas it's her food or the shampoo I was using. So I continue to buy the meds from the online site. Copper has black stuff on his stomach kinda looks like dirt and then scratch marks from scratching, I am using K9 advantix I have 3 tubes left should I but it on them? They had some on the 22nd I believe.

Called the vet and they said I could come and buy some capstar is it any good? Should I go get some? Also told me about another new flea med also a pill forgot the name. Any help thanks. Think I'll go back to buy the flea meds online lol

Do not use the topical preventative too soon, only once a month (or whatever it says). Yes, Capstar will start working instantly. When we had fleas I gave it to Kenya for a few days. She was on BioSpot and it did not work. I had to wait a month to switch to Frontline Plus so I used the Capstar and also treated the entire house and porch with NGR products. Since doing that and using Frontline Plus I have not seen a single flea in the house or on any of the five animals since.

What Liesje said -don't use the topical stuff too soon. Capstar works great and instantly. I would treat the home as well, especially any carpeted areas.

And I'm soooo sorry. I hate fleas so much. I'm slightly alergic to their bites, and my Mom's dog is horribly allergic. We've always used Frontline (or Frontline Plus) with her, and I do the same with our puppy Ari - never had a problem with fleas since. Unless you count the one or two times we were late with the Frontline on the Mom's pooch - that only happened twice in her 13 years of life though since it broke our hearts and made us hate ourselves for doing that too her!

Thanks I used to use Frontline Plus but it didn't seem like it was doing the job so I switched to K9 advantix don't know what happened this month (blaming the vets meds they sold me lmao) I'm gonna get some capstar and the other things Liesje suggested. Thanks both of you's :)

Now if I can only find the right kind of food for the dogs lol thats another story
