Perhaps a weekly bath is in order?

 

A weekly bath is way too much!!!! A dog should be bathed once a month or less.

I have bathed dogs as frequently as three times a week for many weeks in a row with only positive results.

Me too... Casey used to get medicated baths for his skin - twice a week. Now we do a bath every week or two, just to keep up with the good skin. No fleas here either. =]

I bathe twice a year at most, live in a humid area, and we have no "doggy" odor. Diet is the cause I think. Carbs/grains/kibble cause "doggy odor".  

Zack gets bathed twice a week because he pees on himself daily (silly dog).  I spritz his skin/coat with a moisturizer afterwards and he looks great.   He never has doggy odor though at all.  Maybe it's because he is on a raw diet

Roxi had a BAD odor for a long time--we bathed, bought air fresheners--every type on the market.... NOTHING worked..... We have humidity, not as much as you do, but we still have humidity here in Nebraska.... however---

It was her food.... we got one that a "grain" wasn't listed as the 1st ingredient, and the smell is GONE and has been for several months now!!

I would say change the food!!!!! it worked for us!!!

My two very favorite things are, Nature's Miracle enzyme cleaner and the Arm and Hammer pet hair release stuff that you sprinkle on the carpets and vacuum up.   I put a spray nozzle on the bottle of Nature's Miracle and spray it on everything, than let it airdry.  The Arm and Hammer stuff helps SO much with odor and removing the dog hair from the carpets.  In my experience, Febreeze is a waste of $$.  Even the antimicrobial kind doesn't seem to work.  It hides the odor until it dries/dissolves and than the smell comes back. 

Also, plug in air fresheners.  I like the odor neutralizing ones, that way it's not just covering up the smell, but neutralizing it.  That Oust stuff might work to get the smell out of the air to, I've never tried it though.

 My short haired dog has no doggie smell, never has, but I still put a flat sheet (folded) on his beds (yes he has more than one because if you put something on the ground he lays on it) and wash those weekly.

As for baths he gets one infrequently as he doesn't smell and is fairly prissy so he gets a medicated one when I notice his allergies flaring up.

I think that it is primarily diet related but also related to the coat some coats have more of a smell than others.  My good friend has a golden who doesn't smell until wet and then whew!
