    Mindless Chatter - Thurs

Kplwee (from yesterdays MC thread) - yes. Sometimes I do just feel agitated. Like right now. I hate being agitated in the mornings.

OTOH I did catch up on some sleep last night. Although Abbie was ready to play at 2:30 am. She needs to learn our household schedule a little better!

I took my Rendezvous off Craigslist until I got it cleaned up and the AC looked at. I'm still getting emails about it though from people that were interested. That's good, I guess. That forces me to get the stuff done! So, I scrubbed the leather seats down last night and started to detail all of the cracks and crevices. Man, that's a lot of work.

This week has been crazy.  I've been busy with the dogs, job interviews, adding a part time job to my already full time job, getting ready for vacation....plus DH has been working 8-2:30 one job and then 4-midnight another.  So when I leave in the morning he is just getting up and when he gets home I'm already asleep.  I'm a pretty independent person but my own husband hasn't even seen my (major) haircut and Coke's major haircut!  And all I want is to see Dark Knight but that probably won't happen until next week since he also has weekend shifts, often works all night and sleeps all day.

Last night I changed my cat food.  One cat refuses to eat it which is just fine b/c he's the fat one anyway.  But this morning I went down to feed them and it looks like someone had some runny poo in the box, stepped in it, and there's a smear on the floor.  So I'll be mopping the basement floor AGAIN tonight (I just cleaned the whole floor on Sat).

Today is the big day and I am SO besided!

Lies, you should post a pic for us to see your major haircut!  I always love to cut all my hair off.  Right now my hair is a little longer and everyone keeps complimenting me on it.  It is finally past this horrible haircut I got about a year and a half ago and I am starting to really like my hair again too.  And with it longer I can do more with it.  For some reason though, that is when I always get the urge to cut it all off!

Lies I am jealous you have job interviews. I am trying to stay at UM but nothing is happening posting wise. I really want to get out of here.

Two weeks ago, I had a conversation with my boss about telecommuting 2 days a week from home to save money in gas. My boss at the time said she was behind me. The State (where DH works) had sent out an email encouraging people to work out alternative work schedules if their jobs allowed it to help State employees. My boss said to attach that email as "support" for my request and she told me EXACTLY what else to say in the email to her so she could propose it to the higher ups. Yesterday I asked her what they said, her replay was "you were going to send me something in writing." I told her I did 5 minutes after we spoke. Sure enough there it is in her inbox not even OPENED. Now she is back pedaling on her support of this. She said we talked about if the priced dropped below $4 you wouldn't need it. We never had that conversation the only time $4 came up was I stated "now that it is over $4", and she says I have to make it finite. F! Her. I did exactly what she told me to do. She single handedly makes my job a living hell. If she is not in I still like my job. I am sick and tired of her freaking out unreasonably at my co worker, and ignoring me when I ask for assistance. I almost quit yesterday and walk out the door. I am beginning to wonder if UM benefits are worth it. I am so miserable, and it makes it so hard to get up in the AM. I don't even have any vacation time so I can just take a couple days and de stress.

    Sorry for the vent.

Let us know the results! (if you want to tell, I guess some people like to keep the secret...)

I put it up already (I wear a pony tail at work), but basically it's *just* touching my shoulders, parts off to the side, face framed a bit (but no real bangs) and lots of layers to add volume because my hair is relatively thin, straight, and gets stringy.  So I can still fit it all up (I think the front might be a little longer than the back) but if I need to wear it down and style it for a presentation or whatever, I can do that pretty easily because of the layers and it naturally flips out when it's cut that way.

I used to have a long ponytail (you can kinda see in my av how it fell down to my back), now it's just a little bob!  Ew this web cam does nothing for the color of my hair, lol!

The lighting down here doesn't work well with PhotoBooth.  My boss is gone so I'm wearing a hoodie and jeans, hehe.

Well it is approximately 53 hours until Father arrives for his first visit to our house and Master Bedroom painting is still ongoing...

The bathroom and the walkway to it is done and, last night, I got two walls done.  Tonight I can do the third wall with the windows but I need DH to help me move furniture to get to the last wall (darn sleigh beds).

When that is done we can move all the furniture out of the spare bedroom and make it up for Father, then super-clean the rest of the house and plan events to keep him entertained ....ACK!  Any ideas?

    • Gold Top Dog

When people come to visit me, I always check the local paper to see what events are going on around town. Where I live there is usually some music festival or some such thing going on. That would at least kill one day :)

    • Gold Top Dog

I did think about that....  I even asked him what kind of things he would like to do.  His response was "My favourite things to do are 1. go to the Opera, 2. go to the Symphony and 3. eat Indian cuisine."  so I asked him if museums are on his list...he said no.  (I love museums).

So, it looks like I'm finding a good Indian restaurant or cooking it myself, figuring out what parks we can all explore together (weather dependant) and calling my cousin in for reinforcements.

Did I mention that he calls our place the farm because we have one old cat, two dogs and two fish tanks?  Sheesh.  Maybe I'll get the dogs to sleep with him - HA!

    • Gold Top Dog

lol a farm. That's funny. That's something my family would say. Some people just don't understand! :)

You can come close to symphanies with some out door music things. He may enjoy that. Here, every Wed. there is an orchastra that plays at one of the local parks for a couple hours. There's also outdoor plays (free) given by the local college and universities near by. Get creative. I bet you can find some stuff to do that he'll enjoy.

well I am glad it isn't just me Geeked But sorry you are agitated in the morning.

Poor Bugsy has to poop really bad but the guys are fixing all the little bits and pieces and are terrified of the beast.  LOL they just knocked on the door and he was asleep so he barked (rare occurrence) and their faces were great ha ha.

It is hotter than hades again -humid too.

I used to know a guy that was a car trader and he used to say I think I'll just wash $500 on this one.  Think of it as washing money in to it.  Less for them to chip.  I have always made sure I had good tires on the car so they can't say knock $500 off for tires or what have you, irritates me.

Van Morrison's mom don't panic it will all be fine.  He is coming to see you and DH ( and the fur kids) not your house.  Yes he'll check it out but it is you he wants to see

That's all for me - lots to do no motivation - at all.  Too hot

I'm so frustrated with this Rendezvous. I just took it in to see about the AC. It does need a new compressor/condensor (can't remember which). They said $1500. Yeah right. I found another place that will do it for $700. Either way, do I want to spend that money to sell it? That means I'd have to sell it for $9400 minimum. That's bare minimum too and doesn't include all the other expenses I have already put in to it.

Then it needs a front wheel bearing. I heard the noise on my way to the mechanics and figured that's what it was. That is 2 wheel bearings, the AC and electrical problems with only 50k miles on the car. Let me just say this: GM builds crap cars.

I will never ever buy another GM as long as I live.

I would sell in "as is" condition. I wouldn't put any more money in to it.

Ditto that about selling in as is condition. Sorry you are having such rotten luck Jewliee! At least the new car shopping is fun!
